Salary: $1,500–$2,000 USD per month, depending on experience and demonstrated ability
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Remote, Philippines
Position: Long-term, full-time
ABOUT US
McDougall Interactive is a U.S.-based digital marketing agency founded in 1995. We specialize in SEO, content marketing, conversion optimization, paid advertising, and AI search visibility for law firms and other professional and local-service businesses.
We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented WordPress specialist to join our team full-time. This is a long-term role for someone who combines efficient content publishing with practical front-end WordPress skills.
This is not primarily a custom back-end programming position. The largest part of the job is accurately and efficiently publishing SEO content across multiple client websites. You will also make website edits, build and modify pages, troubleshoot WordPress issues, implement schema, and occasionally create or adapt graphics and landing pages.
Accuracy and reliability are extremely important. You must be able to follow written instructions completely, check your own work before marking it finished, communicate clearly, and maintain steady daily production without constant supervision.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Publish and format blog posts, service pages, location pages, podcast transcripts, videos, infographics, and other content in WordPress.
Support the publication of approximately 50–60 pieces of client content per month across our agency, although volume will vary by task complexity.
Build and edit pages using Elementor, Gutenberg, and other common WordPress editors and page builders.
Format headings, lists, tables, calls to action, images, videos, and internal links correctly.
Add page titles, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text, internal links, and other on-page SEO elements.
Implement appropriate schema markup and verify that it works correctly.
Update navigation menus, attorney or staff biographies, service-area pages, forms, calls to action, badges, and other website elements.
Create and modify landing pages based on written instructions, examples, or approved designs.
Make front-end adjustments using HTML and CSS and handle light JavaScript or PHP edits when appropriate.
Perform basic WordPress troubleshooting involving plugins, forms, layouts, mobile responsiveness, redirects, tracking codes, and display problems.
Optimize images and ensure pages display properly on desktop and mobile devices.
Complete a quality-control review before marking every assignment finished.
Maintain accurate task statuses, completed URLs, notes, and estimated time spent in Smartsheet.
Communicate blockers or unclear instructions promptly instead of allowing assignments to sit unfinished.
Participate in brief recurring Zoom status meetings.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
At least three years of hands-on WordPress experience.
Strong experience publishing and formatting substantial volumes of content.
Strong Elementor experience.
Working knowledge of Gutenberg and common WordPress themes and plugins.
Good HTML and CSS skills.
Practical understanding of technical and on-page SEO.
Experience implementing and testing schema markup.
Ability to make responsive front-end changes without breaking existing layouts.
Ability to follow detailed written instructions and check every requirement before submitting work.
Good written and spoken English.
Reliable internet service and a dependable computer.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple client websites, and meet deadlines consistently.
Willingness to document daily work and provide reasonable estimates of the time spent on assignments.
IMPORTANT EXPECTATIONS
This is intended to be your primary full-time position. Occasional freelance work outside business hours may be acceptable, but applicants must disclose any current employment, regular clients, or other commitments that could interfere with full-time availability.
We do not use activity tracking or screenshots to micromanage employees. However, we do require accurate daily task reporting, reasonable time estimates, clear communication, and consistent output.
A task is not considered complete until all instructions have been followed, internal notes have been removed, links and formatting have been checked, and the finished page has been reviewed on both desktop and mobile.
You must be comfortable receiving constructive feedback and correcting errors promptly. Repeatedly missing written instructions or submitting work without reviewing it will not be acceptable.
HELPFUL ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar design tools.
Landing-page and conversion-focused design experience.
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
Website speed and Core Web Vitals optimization.
WordPress security, backups, staging sites, and migrations.
Advanced schema implementation.
Experience working for a U.S.-based SEO or digital marketing agency.
Familiarity with legal, healthcare, HVAC, or professional-services websites.
Experience with AI-assisted design or development tools while maintaining strong human quality control.
SCHEDULE
Most work can be performed during normal Philippines daytime hours. You must be available for occasional scheduled Zoom meetings that overlap with U.S. Eastern Time and respond reliably during agreed working hours.
WHAT WE OFFER
Stable, long-term full-time work.
A company that has operated for more than 30 years.
Varied work across established client websites.
Clear assignments and an organized task-management system.
Opportunities to expand your WordPress, SEO, schema, front-end development, and AI-assisted production skills.
Paid evaluation period with the opportunity to continue in a permanent role.
