Salary: $1,300–$1,700 USD/month depending on experience
We are a fast-growing e-commerce company producing hundreds of video advertisements every month.
We're building a much larger network of video editors, and we're looking for one person to completely own the system of finding, onboarding, tracking, and managing editor talent.
This is **not a traditional HR role** and it is not just recruiting.
Your job is to make sure our creative strategists always have enough talented editors available to produce great work.
## What You Will Own
You will manage the editor pipeline from beginning to end:
**Find editors → Review portfolios → Approve trials → Onboard → Assign to creative teams → Track performance → Keep, Bench, or Remove**
Our goal is to build a large, high-performing network of editors without our founders or creative strategists having to manage the administrative side of the process.
### Recruiting
You will continuously find talented video editors through:
- OnlineJobs.ph
- Upwork
- LinkedIn
-
- Freelance communities
- Referrals
- Other sourcing channels you discover
You will review portfolios and identify editors who appear talented enough to enter our paid trial program.
We care much more about the quality of someone's work than how well they interview.
### Trial Management
New editors enter a paid trial period of up to 30 days.
You will:
- Explain the trial structure
- Confirm rates and availability
- Complete onboarding
- Add them to our systems
- Assign them to the appropriate creative strategist
- Make sure they receive work
- Track their output and performance
- Follow up when someone becomes inactive
- Collect feedback from creative strategists
The editors will work on real projects during their trial.
We do not need lengthy interview processes or artificial test projects. Their actual work is the test.
### Editor Operations
You will maintain visibility into:
- Who is currently on trial
- Who is a permanent/core editor
- Who is on our backup bench
- Who should be removed
- Which creative strategist each editor works with
- How much work editors are receiving
- Turnaround times
- Revision frequency
- Editor capacity
- Editor utilization
- Upcoming 30-day trial decisions
We currently operate primarily through **ClickUp**, so you should be very comfortable using project-management systems and maintaining accurate data.
### Keep / Bench / Cut
You will work with our Creative Strategists to determine what happens with each editor.
At the end of a trial, an editor will generally move into one of three groups:
**CORE** — Excellent editor we want working with us permanently.
**BENCH** — Good editor we want to keep available for additional capacity or future projects.
**CUT** — Not the quality, speed, reliability, or fit we need.
You will coordinate these transitions and make sure there are no editors sitting in the system without a clear status.
## What Success Looks Like
Your job is not simply to "hire editors."
Your job is to maintain enough **proven editing capacity** for our creative team.
If our creative strategists need more editors, you should already have candidates moving through the pipeline.
If someone isn't performing, you should notice it.
If an editor is barely receiving work, you should figure out why.
If our team needs five more strong AI video editors, you should know where they are going to come from.
We want someone who eventually runs this system without needing the founder to constantly check on it.
## You Might Be a Great Fit If...
You are extremely organized.
You like building systems and keeping things from falling through the cracks.
You are comfortable managing many freelancers or employees at once.
You are proactive and don't wait for someone to tell you every next step.
You are comfortable following up with people repeatedly.
You can make decisions using data and feedback.
You are comfortable removing people who are clearly not working out.
You understand that great talent should receive more opportunities.
You enjoy recruiting, operations, project management, or production management.
Experience working with **video editors, creative agencies, marketing teams, content production, or e-commerce brands** is a major advantage.
Experience with **ClickUp** is also highly preferred.
## About Our Creative Team
Our Creative Strategists develop advertising concepts and scripts.
Our editors execute those concepts into finished advertisements.
We primarily produce:
- AI UGC advertisements
- AI VSLs
- Direct-response video ads
- Short-form advertising content
We're scaling toward approximately **400 videos per week**, which means building an excellent editing talent network is extremely important to us.
You will be the person responsible for helping us build that network.
## Compensation
**$1,300–$1,700 USD/month**, depending on experience.
This is a full-time, long-term position.
We are willing to pay toward the top of the range for someone who has successfully managed recruiting, creative operations, contractors, or production teams before.
There is significant room to grow as the editing organization becomes larger.
## How to Apply
