WordPress Developer, CRM & AI Automation Specialist

About the role

Yum Street is a UK event-catering business operating food trucks and Airstreams at festivals, sporting events, corporate functions and private events.

We are looking for a technically capable, self-managed professional to take over our existing WordPress website, custom booking system and CRM integrations, while helping us introduce useful AI tools and AI agents into the business.

We want someone seeking a stable, long-term position who will take ownership of their responsibilities, understand our business and deliver dependable results.

This is a serious full-time commitment. You must start at 08:00am UK time, complete eight working hours each day and remain available to the team during your agreed working schedule. Break arrangements will be agreed separately.

Your initial responsibilities

Review and understand our existing WordPress website, custom PHP booking system and GenieAI/GoHighLevel connections.
Identify faults, unfinished work and missing documentation.
Check that customer enquiries, quotes, bookings and follow-up processes work correctly.
Confirm company access to source code, hosting, accounts and backups.
Create a prioritised takeover plan and complete agreed improvements.
Document the systems so the business can operate and maintain them confidently.

Ongoing responsibilities

Website and booking system

Maintain and improve WordPress pages, custom plugins and templates.
Work with PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Complete website development tasks and connect forms to the correct booking workflows.
Troubleshoot errors, improve mobile usability and test customer journeys.
Maintain accurate booking records and staff-facing dashboards.

CRM and business automation

Maintain GenieAI/GoHighLevel pipelines, customer records and follow-up workflows.
Troubleshoot API connections, webhooks and data synchronisation.
Maintain quote reminders, nurture emails, staff notifications and post-event follow-up.
Resolve duplicate records, incorrect statuses and failed automations.
Verify that each workflow produces the intended business result.

AI tools and AI agents

Identify practical opportunities to reduce repetitive work and improve customer service through AI.
Build and maintain AI agents that can use business information and connect to relevant systems.
Integrate AI with our website, CRM and internal workflows.
Establish clear permissions, human approval steps and escalation routes.
Test agents for accuracy and reliability, monitor their performance and resolve failures.
Keep business information secure and track running costs.
Document AI workflows and train colleagues to use them effectively.

We are looking for hands-on experience building and operating AI agents, beyond using chatbots to write content or generate code.

Technical ownership

Manage code and changes through GitHub.
Maintain hosting, scheduled tasks, monitoring and backups.
Test changes before deployment and maintain recovery procedures.
Keep credentials, access permissions and documentation organised.
Ensure company systems and work remain accessible to management.

Daily reporting and accountability

You will manage your own delivery, but clear reporting is essential.

You must:

Be ready to work at 08:00am UK time.
Confirm your priorities at the start of the working day.
Record actual working time accurately in Time Doctor.
Keep tasks and progress updated in ---------- .
Communicate promptly during working hours.
Submit an EOD report before signing off each day.

Your EOD report must state:

Hours worked and tasks completed.
Results achieved, with links or other evidence.
Work still in progress.
Problems, blockers or decisions required.
Priorities for the next working day.

Completed work must be tested and supported by evidence. An AI-generated statement that something is finished is not sufficient.

Essential skills and experience

Proven experience with custom WordPress development and PHP.
Strong HTML/CSS and working JavaScript knowledge.
Experience with GoHighLevel or comparable CRM platforms.
API, webhook and database troubleshooting experience.
Demonstrable experience building AI agents and business automations.
Ability to test, monitor and maintain AI workflows after launch.
Git/GitHub, hosting, logs, scheduled tasks and backup experience.
Experience taking over and understanding another developer’s code.
Strong written English and clear communication with nontechnical colleagues.
Excellent organisation, independent problem-solving and reliable daily reporting.

Our expectations

Your agreed working hours must be dedicated to Yum Street, without overlapping commitments to another employer or client.

Significant changes, new subscriptions and changes to business priorities require management agreement. You are encouraged to recommend improvements and explain their expected benefits, costs and maintenance needs.

Work must be performed by the appointed person. Subcontracting or providing access to additional contributors requires prior approval.
