# Google Ads Support Specialist
**Remote | Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising**
## About Slaymaker Marketing
Slaymaker Marketing is a growing digital advertising agency managing paid-media campaigns for e-commerce and B2B clients. We combine senior-level strategy with hands-on execution across Google, Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other advertising platforms.
We value honesty, improvement, respect, ownership, selflessness, and results. We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, pays close attention to detail, and takes responsibility for producing accurate work.
## About the Role
We are hiring a Google Ads Support Specialist to support campaign implementation, optimization, QA, analysis, and reporting across Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising.
You will work alongside experienced account leads who own client strategy and communication. Your role will be to translate that strategy into accurate campaign execution, monitor account performance, maintain organized documentation, and proactively surface opportunities and concerns.
This role is ideal for someone with strong Google Ads fundamentals who wants to develop into an independent account manager and strategist.
## What You’ll Own Day to Day
* Build and update Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen, Display, and YouTube campaigns
* Conduct keyword, search-term, competitor, audience, and placement research
* Develop and implement keyword lists, match types, negatives, audiences, and targeting
* Draft and upload responsive search ads, extensions, assets, and other ad variations
* Make approved changes to bids, budgets, targeting, exclusions, and campaign settings
* Monitor spend pacing, CPA, ROAS, CTR, CVR, impression share, and other relevant metrics
* Review search terms and identify negative keywords or expansion opportunities
* Conduct routine account checks and flag unusual performance or delivery changes
* Pull and organize data for client reporting and internal analysis
* Prepare performance notes, insights, and recommended actions before client calls
* Support Google Merchant Center and product-feed troubleshooting
* Maintain campaign naming conventions, labels, tracking templates, and UTMs
* Review conversion actions, attribution settings, URLs, and campaign goals
* Document completed changes, test results, open questions, and next steps
* Implement campaigns and changes in Microsoft Advertising when needed
* Proactively identify opportunities instead of waiting exclusively for assigned tasks
## QA Expectations
Every campaign build or major change must receive complete QA. You will be expected to verify:
* Campaign type, objective, bidding strategy, budget, and schedule
* Keywords, match types, negatives, audiences, and exclusions
* Geographic, demographic, device, network, and language settings
* Ad copy, assets, final URLs, tracking templates, and UTMs
* Conversion actions and campaign-level conversion goals
* Merchant Center products, feed settings, and product-group structures
* Brand exclusions, account-level negatives, and suitability settings
* Naming conventions and reporting consistency
* Alignment with the approved strategy and client instructions
## Required Qualifications
* Hands-on experience building and optimizing Google Ads campaigns
* Strong understanding of Search campaign structures and keyword strategy
* Familiarity with Shopping and Performance Max campaigns
* Ability to interpret performance data and identify meaningful trends
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to pre-launch QA
* Clear written English and dependable internal communication
* Strong organization and time-management skills
* Ability to manage work across multiple accounts and deadlines
* Willingness to document work and communicate progress proactively
* Ability to identify concerns and suggest solutions before escalating them
## Preferred Qualifications
* Experience supporting both e-commerce and B2B lead-generation accounts
* Familiarity with Microsoft Advertising and Google Merchant Center
* Experience with GA4, GTM, Looker Studio, Shopify, and HubSpot
* Understanding of conversion tracking and offline conversion imports
* Experience with product feeds and feed-optimization tools
* Familiarity with value-based bidding, attribution, and lifecycle-stage reporting
* Experience working with monthly advertising budgets of $50,000 or more
* Familiarity with project-management and team-communication platforms
## What Success Looks Like
* Campaigns and optimizations are completed accurately and on schedule
* Every launch receives thorough QA
* Search-term reviews and account checks are completed consistently
* Reporting data and call-preparation notes are accurate and useful
* Performance issues are identified and escalated early
* Account leads have clear visibility into completed work and blockers
* Recommendations are supported by data and aligned with client goals
* You gradually progress from execution support toward independent ownership of smaller accounts
## What We’re Looking For
The right person is analytical, dependable, organized, and proactive. You should be comfortable following a defined strategy while also thinking critically about whether the requested implementation makes sense.
We do not want someone who blindly completes tasks. We want someone who checks their work, raises concerns, investigates performance changes, and contributes ideas for improvement.
To apply, please provide:
* A brief overview of your Google Ads experience
* The campaign types and monthly budgets you have managed or supported
* Examples of e-commerce or lead-generation accounts you have worked on
* An example of an optimization or QA issue you identified
* Your experience with GA4, GTM, Merchant Center, and Microsoft Advertising
* Your availability and preferred working hours
