JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Virtual Assistant Accountant / Controller to join our team and support the financial operations of our property management business.

We are looking for more than a basic data-entry bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to review financial information, identify discrepancies, and help maintain accurate financial controls across our properties.

Experience with multifamily, real estate, or property-management accounting is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions
Review monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and financial statements
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Manage and track Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Track property-level income and expenses
Prepare and review budget vs. actual reports
Assist with cash-flow reporting and monitoring
Review transactions and financial records for unusual expenses, discrepancies, and accounting errors
Identify inconsistencies and follow up on items that require clarification or correction
Maintain accurate and organized financial records
Assist with financial reporting and analysis for management
Help establish and maintain strong financial controls across our properties
Support management with financial information and reporting as needed
Qualifications
Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management
Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles
Experience with reconciliations, AP, AR, P&L statements, and financial reporting
Ability to analyze financial information rather than simply enter data
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, and potential accounting errors
Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently in a remote environment
Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
Property-management or real-estate accounting experience is highly preferred
Multifamily accounting experience is a strong advantage

We are looking for a candidate who can:
Understand the numbers behind the business
Review financial reports and identify issues
Ask the right questions when something does not look correct
Take ownership of accounting responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records
Provide reliable financial information to management
Work independently while communicating clearly with the team

This is not simply a data-entry bookkeeping position. Candidates should be comfortable reviewing, analyzing, and questioning financial information when necessary.

Compensation
$800–$1,200 USD per month, depending on experience, qualifications, and accounting expertise.

Candidates with stronger accounting, financial analysis, and property-management experience may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
