JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a reliable, detail-focused WordPress & SEO specialist to help us build, optimise and manage a growing portfolio of local service websites across the UK.

This is a long-term role for someone who is already comfortable working inside WordPress and understands on-page SEO, local SEO and website optimisation.

We are currently expanding quickly and are aiming to launch 20+ new location websites over the next 30 days, with ongoing website production after that.

You will be working from existing high-performing templates, so the role is not about designing every website from scratch. The main focus is producing new local versions accurately, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

Main responsibilities
Duplicate and adapt existing WordPress websites for new UK locations
Update location-specific content throughout each website
Change town/city names, service areas, phone numbers and contact details accurately
Work with AI tools such as ChatGPT to adapt and improve content
Carry out local keyword and location research
Update page titles, meta descriptions and Rank Math SEO settings
Optimise heading structure and on-page SEO
Improve internal linking between relevant pages
Source, resize, compress and upload appropriate images
Optimise image filenames, alt text and captions
Check mobile responsiveness across the website
Identify and fix formatting issues
Check buttons, forms, phone links and internal links
Carry out basic technical SEO and website QA before launch
Follow detailed SOPs and checklists
Maintain consistency across multiple websites
Breakdance experience

Our websites are built primarily using Breakdance Builder.

Previous Breakdance experience is highly desirable, but strong WordPress experience with builders such as Elementor, Bricks, Oxygen or similar will also be considered.

Over time, I would also like this person to help me test new layouts and website designs inside Breakdance, so having a good eye for modern website design, UX and conversion-focused layouts would be a big advantage.

This may include:

Testing new homepage layouts
Improving service page design
Creating new reusable sections
Improving mobile layouts
Testing different calls to action
Helping improve conversion rates
Creating cleaner and more modern versions of our existing templates
SEO knowledge

You should have practical experience with at least some of the following:

Local SEO
On-page SEO
Rank Math
Keyword placement
Meta titles and descriptions
Heading structure
Internal linking
Image SEO
Basic schema awareness
Core Web Vitals / page speed basics
Mobile optimisation
WordPress technical SEO

You do not need to be an advanced SEO strategist, but you should understand what makes a page properly optimised before launch.

Is comfortable doing repetitive website production work accurately
Can work independently after training
Understands UK English
Communicates clearly
Is comfortable using AI tools
Can identify obvious website or SEO problems without needing constant supervision
Wants a long-term role and increasing responsibility

I am particularly interested in someone who can eventually take ownership of most of the website production process from initial duplication through to final optimisation and QA.

Hours

Initially approximately 20 hours per week, with the potential to increase as the business grows.

There is significant ongoing work available for the right person.

Growth opportunity

This is not intended to be a short-term freelance project.

We are building a large portfolio of local service websites and want somebody who can become an important long-term member of the team.

As you become familiar with our systems, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility for:
