Senior Short-Form Video Editor & Sound Specialist – Part-Time (50%) with Full-Time Scaling
About the Position:
We are seeking a proven Senior Video Editor who works exclusively in DaVinci Resolve Studio to join our team. We produce high-volume, premium fishing content (short-form reels). The raw footage is in German, but no German language skills are required. You will simply use DaVinci Resolve’s built-in AI features to translate the audio.
*** Please do not apply with your CV and Portfolio, below are all information how to apply for this position***
This is a high-responsibility part-time position (50% workload) with an immediate path to scale into a 100% full-time role (including long-form editing and advanced sound design). We offer high autonomy and flexible working hours, but we demand flawless execution and 100% reliability on deadlines.
Expected Output & Speed:
Rate of Work: 6–8 Reels per 8-hour workday (meaning at 50% workload, you deliver ~3–4 finished Reels per day).
Length: Videos are typically 30–40 seconds long.
Autonomy: You will be given scripts and voiceovers. We expect you to execute independently without hand-holding.
Compensation:
Salary: $1,000 USD/month for a 50% workload
Payment: Paid monthly.
Who This Role Is For:
An Editor with an Eye for Clean Cuts: You have exceptional visual taste and a natural sense for pacing. You know how to make videos look crisp and engaging using pure hard cuts without relying on cheap effects or flashy transitions.
An Audio Specialist: You have advanced sound design skills. You know how to level audio, layer subtle SFX, and choose music that enhances narrative flow without over-producing.
A Precision-Driven Professional: You pay extreme attention to timing. Frame-accurate subtitle matching and clean cuts are second nature to you.
Who This Role Is NOT For:
Beginners, juniors, or editors currently learning basic editing principles.
Editors who rely on flashy transitions, heavy visual effects, or preset packs to hide poor cutting.
Anyone looking for basic training or step-by-step editing instructions.
Mandatory Requirements:
Software: You must own and actively use DaVinci Resolve Studio (the paid version). The free version will not suffice for our translation workflow.
Hardware & Infrastructure: High-performance editing rig (capable of smooth 4K/HD playback and fast rendering), high-speed fiber internet, and a reliable power backup solution.
Experience: 3+ years of professional short-form editing experience with a portfolio proving clean cut structures and advanced audio mixing.
Communication: Fluent English for daily written briefings, asynchronous feedback, and clear communication.
Your Responsibilities & Workflow Rules:
Style: Pure, clean hard cuts only. No transitions, no zoom-ins, no visual clutter. Match the reference style perfectly.
Subtitle Precision: Subtitles must be manually formatted according to our brand template. Rule: Every visual cut from Clip A to Clip B must align with a subtitle cut at the exact same frame (see reference video)
Sound Design: Clean voiceover leveling, strategic Artlist music selection, and restrained, purposeful SFX.
How to Apply (Mandatory 20-Minute Senior Test)
To filter for true technical precision and efficiency, we require a short test edit. For a Senior Editor, this test will take approximately 20–30 minutes.
Test Instructions:
