Operations & Implementation Manager — Entrepreneur’s Right Hand
Remote | Full-Time
I’m an entrepreneur and creative producer involved in several businesses and projects, and I’m looking for a highly organized, systems-minded person to work directly alongside me as my operational right hand.
Why I’m Hiring
In most of my businesses and projects, I play a similar role.
I typically partner with people who bring specialized technical expertise. My partners may understand the technology, creative discipline, service, or technical side of the business better than I do.
My job is to bring the pieces together.
I help turn that expertise into a product or service we can actually sell. I package the offering, develop the business model, build partnerships, find opportunities, sell, market, raise or allocate money, and help determine how the organization should operate.
I’m strongest when I’m talking to people, solving problems, developing opportunities, making deals, selling, marketing, and figuring out how all the pieces should fit together.
The problem comes after the meeting.
We can sit in a meeting, identify the problem, make decisions, determine the solution, and leave knowing exactly what should happen next.
But then I’m back to selling, meeting people, developing the next opportunity, and running several organizations at once.
I don’t currently have enough infrastructure on my side to consistently carry those solutions through implementation.
Things that should take a week can take a month. Projects sit on lists. Systems we’ve already d
That’s the bottleneck I’m hiring this person to solve.
Your Role
I’m looking for someone who can come alongside me while I’m developing deals, generating revenue, building partnerships, packaging products, and determining how we want the business to operate.
Once we’ve established the framework, you help turn it into reality.
The relationship should increasingly work like this:
I create the opportunity → We define the solution → You organize implementation → The right people/AI/software execute → You manage follow-through → I step back in when my judgment, relationship, sales ability, or approval is needed.
You’re not simply completing tasks I assign.
You’re helping me build the team, systems, technology, processes, and infrastructure that allow me and my business partners to accomplish more and make more money.
What Implementation Might Look Like
There won’t be one solution for everything.
For one project, we might build a specialized AI assistant.
For another, you might research and implement software.
For another, we might d
You might also:
* Build a spreadsheet, database, dashboard, or tracking system
* Turn meeting decisions into projects, tasks, owners, budgets, and deadlines
* Research vendors and request quotes
* Interview or coordinate freelancers
* Build workflows for existing team members
* Document processes and create SOPs
* Track budgets, costs, revenue, and performance data
* Follow up with partners, employees, customers, and vendors
* Manage projects through completion
* Identify repetitive work that should be automated or delegated
* Research new technology and determine whether it’s actually useful
* Create systems so successful projects can operate without constant involvement from me
The goal is not to use AI everywhere.
The goal is to determine the smartest way to get something done.
Sometimes that’s AI. Sometimes it’s software. Sometimes it’s an existing employee. Sometimes we need to hire somebody.
You should be able to help make that distinction.
AI & Technology
You should have a strong practical understanding of modern AI tools.
You don’t need to be an AI engineer, but you should understand what current AI systems are good at, what they’re bad at, and how to use them effectively for research, organization, analysis, documentation, communication, and business operations.
I’d like us to gradually build AI systems that understand our businesses and multiply what you and the rest of the team can accomplish.
At the same time, I specifically do not want someone who thinks AI is automatically the answer to every problem.
Good judgment matters more.
Systems, Numbers & Organization
If I had to choose between someone who is primarily creative and someone who is primarily systems- and numbers-oriented, I would choose the systems person.
You should enjoy taking something messy and creating structure around it.
You should be comfortable with spreadsheets, budgets, data, timelines, databases, project-management systems, costs, basic financial analysis, and keeping large amounts of information organized.
You should naturally want to know:
What are we trying to accomplish?
What needs to happen next?
Who owns it?
What will it cost?
When is it due?
How are we tracking it?
What’s holding it up?
How do we prevent this problem from happening again?
Creativity is still extremely valuable. The ideal person understands that businesses and creative projects aren’t always neat or predictable and can think creatively when designing a solution.
But your primary instinct should be systems and execution.
Communication
Strong spoken and written English is important.
Although this is a remote position, you won’t spend your entire day behind a computer.
As trust develops, I need to be able to say:
“Can you call them and figure this out?”
You should be comfortable professionally communicating with customers, vendors, contractors, employees, business partners, and potential hires by
The Businesses
You’ll initially work across four businesses/projects:
Peachy Greens Gardening — An established gardening company with an employee and existing customers.
Still Kicking Mobility — An elder mobility startup being developed with business partners who bring specialized expertise.
Creative Media — Social and video content surrounding our businesses, theatre, creatives, and interesting people.
Theatre Producing — Freelance theatrical producing and development, including story, spectacle, research, pitching, and new project development.
The industries are different, but my role within them is remarkably similar—which is why I want one person working alongside me across all of them.
Who I’m Looking For
I’m looking for someone who is:
* Exceptionally organized and systems-minded
* Strong with numbers, spreadsheets, and data
* Comfortable with AI and emerging technology
* A strong researcher and problem solver
* Excellent at project management and follow-through
* Comfortable coordinating other people
* Able to communicate professionally by phone, video, and writing
* Capable of turning messy conversations and ideas into concrete action plans
* Comfortable hiring and managing freelancers or vendors
* Good at documenting processes
* Persistent about getting things across the finish line
* Able to work across several very different industries
* Comfortable saying when an idea doesn’t make operational or financial sense
* Creative enough to find unconventional solutions when necessary
You don’t need to know how to personally perform every task.
You need to be good at figuring out how we’re going to get the task accomplished and then making sure it actually happens.
What Success Looks Like
Six months into working together, I want you to understand how I operate well enough that we can leave a meeting having made ten decisions and I don’t have to personally carry those ten decisions around in my head afterward.
You capture them.
You turn them into projects.
You determine what can be handled by AI, what can be handled by our existing team, what requires outside help, and what still requires me.
You keep everything moving.
Then you bring me back in at the points where I’m most valuable—making decisions, developing relationships, selling, negotiating, creating opportunities, solving higher-level problems, and shaping the product.
I don’t need someone to simply keep me organized.
I need someone who helps turn decisions into execution and helps me build the infrastructure that allows my partners, businesses, and ideas to reach their full potential.
