Job Description: Creative QA — Storyboard & Animation

Location: Remote (WFH)

International Client Type: Project-Based / AS NEEDED (Hourly) ( Available 1-8 hours a day when activated / hours may flex up or down depending on project pacing)

Hourly Rate: $7/hour

Confidentiality: High (Non-Disclosure Agreement Required)

Role Overview
We are looking for a Creative QA who can review and quality-check storyboards and animation projects before they move to the next stage who can start ASAP during October-November. The ideal candidate understands both design and animation workflows. Someone who can design storyboards and also has experience with motion graphics/animation is highly preferred, as they can better understand the process from the initial design all the way through animation. Being able to animate is not a hard requirement, but you should understand how animation works, how storyboard designs translate into motion, and what to look for when reviewing work. This is a project-based (as-needed) role paid on an hourly basis, and due to the sensitive nature of the work, a signed NDA is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Storyboard QA: Review storyboards for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and overall visual quality.

Animation QA: Check animated outputs against the storyboard, brief, and expected direction.

Design Review: Identify issues with layout, composition, typography, visual hierarchy, assets, and consistency.

Process Check: Make sure designs are properly prepared and make sense from a design- to-animation workflow.

Attention to Detail: Catch small errors, inconsistencies, missing elements, timing issues, or anything that may have been overlooked.

Feedback & Revisions: Clearly document issues and provide actionable feedback to designers and animators.

File & Project Organization: Help keep QA notes, assets, versions, and project files organized.

Compensation & Work Structure

Hourly Pay: Compensation is calculated on an hourly basis for the duration of the project.

Project-Based: Engagement occurs on a per-project basis with clear delivery milestones.

Flexible Remote Work: Work from your own space while coordinating with an international team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Design Suite Mastery: Expert-level skills in Adobe Illustrator, Figma, After Effects

Strong storyboarding/design skills.

Good understanding of the animation process and workflow.

Experience reviewing or working with motion graphics is a strong advantage.

Motion graphics/animation experience is preferred but not required.

Strong eye for visual quality, consistency, spacing, composition, and detail.

Extremely organized and detail-oriented

Able to follow a creative brief and identify when work does not match the intended direction

Comfortable giving clear, specific, and constructive feedback.

Able to work independently and manage changing priorities.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who can design a storyboard and understand how that storyboard will eventually become an animation.

If you can both design and animate, that's a major plus. We have found that people with both skill sets tend to be very effective in QA because they understand what is possible, what can go wrong during animation, and what needs to be fixed before the project moves forward.
