Project Planner / Project Controls Specialist — Remote
Part-Time or Full-Time | Remote | Perth (AWST) Working Hours
Catalyst Project Services is seeking an experienced Project Planner / Project Controls Specialist to join our growing team in a remote capacity.
We provide project planning, scheduling, project controls and advisory services to clients across the Australian construction, mining and resources sectors.
This role is suited to an experienced planner who is technically strong, comfortable working independently and capable of taking ownership of assigned work.
The Role
You will support the development, maintenance and analysis of project schedules and project controls information across a range of Australian construction and mining projects.
Your responsibilities may include:
Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules in Primavera P6
Updating schedules using project progress and actual data
Critical path and float analysis
Resource and labour loading
Progress measurement and forecasting
Preparing look-ahead schedules and programme reports
Analysing schedule performance and identifying emerging delays and risks
Supporting tender and baseline programme development
Producing project controls reports and dashboards
Manipulating and analysing project data using Microsoft Excel
Supporting the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards
Reviewing project information and identifying inconsistencies or issues
Working directly with Catalyst's Australian team to deliver high-quality client outputs
About You
We're looking for someone with:
Minimum 5 years' experience in project planning, scheduling or project controls
Advanced Primavera P6 skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Intermediate or higher Power BI capability
Strong understanding of scheduling principles, logic, critical path, float and progress measurement
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail
Good written and spoken English
Ability to work independently and manage priorities
Reliable internet connection and an appropriate remote working environment
Highly regarded:
Previous experience supporting Australian mining, resources, infrastructure or construction projects
Experience working with Australian contractors, subcontractors or consultancies
Exposure to project controls, cost control, earned value or progress measurement
Experience preparing client-facing reports
Experience integrating P6/Excel data into Power BI
Microsoft Project Skills
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical qualification
Working Arrangements
This is a remote position and can initially be structured as either part-time or full-time depending on the successful candidate.
The successful candidate must be available to work primarily during Perth, Western Australia (AWST) business hours to enable close collaboration with our Australian team.
There is potential for the role to grow significantly over time for the right person.
