Part-Time Video Editor – YouTube Channel
About us
We run a YouTube channel (Keep It Simple, DIY) about practical homemaking, cooking, kitchen products, organizing, and DIY, with a focus on saving time and making everyday life easier. We're growing steadily and looking for a reliable editor.
The role
Edit YouTube videos from raw footage into polished, ready-to-publish videos, following our brand guidelines. This is a part-time, hourly position, and the role may grow to include other tasks over time.
What you'll do
• Edit long-form YouTube videos (DaVinci Resolve preferred): cutting, pacing, removing dead air and mistakes
• Add text, titles, and simple graphics following our brand guidelines
• Add captions and on-screen callouts where needed
• Add music, sound effects, and basic audio cleanup
• Export final files to spec and organize project files
• Make revisions based on feedback
Requirements
• Beginner to intermediate experience editing (DaVinci Resolve preferred)
• A portfolio or sample edits you can share (personal or practice projects are fine)
• Comfortable with basic color correction and audio leveling
• Able to follow written brand guidelines and feedback closely
• Reliable computer and internet, able to download and upload large files
• Good written English for communication
• Able to meet deadlines and communicate proactively if something's delayed
Nice to have
• Experience editing YouTube content, especially lifestyle, DIY, or product content
• Basic thumbnail or graphic design skills
Confidentiality
You'll see unreleased videos and possibly upcoming brand partnerships. You'll be asked to sign an NDA and a contractor agreement before starting.
Schedule and pay
• Hourly, approximately 10-15 hours per week, flexible
• Rate: hourly, depending on experience
• Flexible schedule with agreed deadlines per video
