JOB OVERVIEW

What the job actually is

This is an outbound sales role. You are on the phone all shift.

We call people in the United States who filled in a form about retirement income and life insurance. Most of them will not remember filling it in. Your job is to open the call, explain who we are and why we are calling, get them interested enough to keep talking, ask the questions that tell you whether they fit what our client is looking for, and then hand the good ones live to a licensed agent.

You sell the conversation. You never sell the product.

That one line is the whole job. You have to create enough interest that a stranger agrees to speak with an agent. What you never do is discuss the product itself: no recommending it, no quoting a rate or a return, no telling anybody whether they should buy. You are not licensed and you will not be. Every product question gets the same answer, warmly: "That's exactly what the licensed agent will walk you through on the call."

If you have sold anything over the phone before, the skill transfers. If you have only ever read scripts and logged outcomes, this will be harder than you expect.

We are Apex Digital Media, a Florida company. On calls you use our brand name, Summers Ahead.

The hours

9:00am to 6:00pm US Eastern Time, Monday to Saturday.

In Manila that is 9:00pm to 6:00am. From early November to mid March it shifts to 10:00pm to 7:00am, when the US changes its clocks.

This is a permanent night shift. Our consumers are in the United States and you can only legally call them during their day. There is no night differential and no rotation onto days later. If a permanent night schedule does not work for your life, this is not the job.

The pay, in full
$5.00 USD per hour, for every hour you work
$3 for every transfer the client accepts. $4 each once you pass 10 accepted in a week, $5 each once you pass 20. Resets every week
$15 bonus in any week where at least 10 transfers are accepted and 80% or more of your transfers are accepted
Paid every two weeks in USD. The period closes Saturday 11:59 PM ET and you are paid the following Friday
Your first payment lands 6 to 19 days after your first shift, depending which day of the cycle you start on

A typical week at 40 hours and 15 accepted transfers is around $265.

Read this part twice. Transfer pay is on transfers the client accepts, not transfers you make. Connect somebody in the wrong state, well outside the income range, or who did not really understand what the call was, and the client rejects it. A rejected transfer pays nothing. If it was already paid, it comes off your next period. That is a clawback and it will happen to you at some point.

Your hourly base is never touched by any of this. It is for your time, and your time was worked.

This is why pressure does not pay here. Three accepted transfers a day beats ten that fall apart, and three a day is what moves you into the higher rate tier.

The hard parts, so you can d ---------- now

You are starting most calls cold, from a standing start. "I never signed up for anything" is something you will hear many times a day. You need to be able to explain calmly what they filled in and re-earn the conversation. If somebody genuinely does not remember, or asks you to stop, you take them off the list and end the call. You do not argue them into it.

Most dials go nowhere. New hires work the oldest, hardest lists for their first two weeks. That is where you learn the script without burning good leads. It is normal for the first fortnight to feel like nothing is working.

Your pay moves with quality, in both directions. Up with accepted transfers, down when they are rejected.

We track time with Hubstaff, which records your hours and takes periodic screenshots and activity readings while you are on shift. You are being told this now, before you apply, rather than after you accept.

Your first two weeks are a trial. At the end of it you either join the team properly or we stop. You are told exactly what is measured on day one, with check-ins at day 3, day 7 and day 14. Nothing about it is a surprise.

If you have read this far and still want it, you are the person we want to interview.

What we are looking for

Someone who can take a stranger who did not expect the call and turn it into a real conversation. That takes warmth, quick thinking, and the willingness to keep going after the first brush-off.

It does not take pressure. There are two ways to fail this job and both are common. One is reading the script and accepting the first no. The other is talking somebody onto the line who did not want to be there, which gets the transfer rejected, costs you the pay, and costs us the client. The skill is the middle: persuasive about the call, never pushy about the person.

Outbound sales, telemarketing or collections experience all help. Insurance experience is genuinely not needed. We teach that part.

What you need
Clear spoken English. Our consumers are 55 and older and they need to understand you the first time
A wired USB headset with a microphone
A computer that can run a dialer and two browser tabs without struggling
Internet at 25 Mbps down and 10 up minimum, wired preferred, and a plan for when the power goes
A quiet room with a door
Able to work 11:00am to 7:00pm ET, Monday to Saturday
The process
One form, about ten minutes, ending with a 60-second voice recording: [FORM LINK]
We score it and reply either way
A 20-minute video interview. Ten minutes of it is a role-play where you open a call and handle two objections. We send you the script in advance
An offer, then paid training from day one

We reply to everyone who submits a voice sample.
