JOB OVERVIEW

Remote • Fixed-fee project • Target completion within 3 months

We’re looking for an experienced UX/product designer to improve the flow and organization of three custom platforms. We already have a designer/developer and work in progress. We need someone who can understand the overall system, simplify complicated journeys, and give our team clear designs to implement.

The platforms
Forge: A membership community and retreat platform for veterans and first responders, including registration, eligibility, applications, preparation, education, community, and ongoing member support.
Makua: A retreat and member platform sharing much of Forge’s backend, with workflows adapted to its audience and simpler participation requirements.
LifeOS: An independent health app bringing together health history, biomarkers, connected-device data, and personal tracking. It is also offered to members of our other platforms.
The work

The priority is making each platform intuitive for users and efficient for staff. This includes public website journeys, onboarding, member dashboards, and administrative workflows.

You will:

Review existing designs, working features, and requirements.
Map user journeys and identify confusing steps, missing actions, and unnecessary complexity.
Organize navigation, screens, information, statuses, and staff actions.
Establish consistent workflows across Forge and Makua while accommodating their differences.
Improve LifeOS’s information organization and user experience, including entry from connected platforms.
Deliver editable flow diagrams, key wireframes, and a prioritized implementation plan.
Work directly with our designer/developer and review agreed changes.
Who we need

Experience designing complex web applications, member portals, admin tools, or health apps. Strong information architecture and workflow skills are essential, along with clear English and the ability to explain your decisions.

Your portfolio should show how you made a complicated system easier to use.

Contract and application

We prefer a fixed project fee with agreed deliverables, milestone payments, and a clear completion date. Shortlisted candidates will receive documentation and a walkthrough before providing a final quote.
