Summary
We're a DTC supplement brand expanding our product line and need an experienced packaging prepress specialist to take our designs from "approved" to print-ready.
This is NOT concept design work (but could be later on) as we handle the creative direction. What we need is someone who can execute clean, accurate print files on real dielines.
Typical tasks:
Extend/adapt an existing packaging design to new copy, colors, or SKU variants (same design system, different details)
Take a rough mockup we provide and apply it correctly to the actual dieline/template
Accurately update and format Nutrition Facts Panels (NFP) and supplement facts to match provided data — regulatory formatting matters, so precision here is critical
Set up files correctly for print: bleed, safe zones, resolution, color mode
Apply Pantone/spot colors accurately and flag any CMYK conversion issues
Specify and apply finishing details — gloss vs. matte, metallic vs. non-metallic, foil, spot UV, etc.
Communicate directly with our printer/vendor to get dielines and confirm specs
Requirements:
Proven packaging prepress/print production experience (not just graphic design) — please show dieline work in your portfolio, not just flat designs
Strong Adobe Illustrator skills
Experience with Pantone/spot color and print finishing specs
Comfortable working from loose direction or rough mockups
Able to communicate directly with printers/co-packers when needed
Detail-oriented — you catch file errors before they go to press
Available for calls during US Pacific Time (PT) hours for alignment/check-ins
Comfortable joining
Nice to have:
Experience with supplement, food, or beverage packaging
Familiarity with FDA/regulatory formatting requirements for Nutrition/Supplement Facts panels
Familiarity with co-packer/printer dieline formats
Project type: Ongoing. More products launching regularly, looking for a long-term working relationship if it's a good fit
To apply, please include:
2–3 examples of actual dieline/packaging prepress work (not just packaging design)
Your typical turnaround time on a single SKU file
Confirm you're comfortable working directly with a printer to resolve file issues
Confirm your general availability overlaps with US Pacific Time
