JOB OVERVIEW

Highlands Realty is a Florida real estate brokerage seeking an experienced Full-Stack Web Developer to take over and continue development of our existing custom website and digital platform.

The existing application is built with Next.js, React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Prisma, PostgreSQL/Neon, Vercel, Vercel Blob, Resend, Git/GitHub, APIs and environment variables. An independent technical audit has already been completed.

Immediate Assignment

We are transitioning from our current developer. The person selected will initially work directly with the current developer to complete a professional handoff, independently verify the system, and ensure that Highlands Realty has complete company control and continuity.

The immediate objectives include:

Verify company ownership/control of GitHub, Vercel, Neon/PostgreSQL, Vercel Blob, Resend, domain/DNS, environment variables, API keys and integrations.
Independently clone, build and deploy the existing application.
Verify the production PostgreSQL/Neon database and Prisma configuration.
Verify and test database and file-storage backup/recovery procedures.
Review the existing codebase, recent development work and technical documentation.
Resolve remaining launch-critical issues.
Establish a clean development → staging → production workflow.
Assist with IDX/MLS integration and launch.

Our goal is to have a professional Version 1.0 website live by September 30, 2026. This is not intended to be a complete rebuild unless there is a compelling technical reason.

Long-Term Opportunity

This is potentially an ongoing development position. Highlands Realty intends to substantially expand the platform after launch, including advanced IDX property search, buyer and seller resource centers, HubSpot CRM integration, market reports, community pages, commercial/investment real estate resources, video/content integration, lead-generation tools, SEO, structured data/schema and AI-search visibility.

Required Skills

Strong experience with Next.js, React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Git/GitHub, Vercel, PostgreSQL, Prisma, APIs, environment variables and production deployments.

Experience with Neon, Vercel Blob, IDX/MLS/RETS/RESO, HubSpot, Resend, DNS, technical SEO/schema and secure credential management is highly desirable.

We particularly value someone who can inherit an existing codebase, troubleshoot methodically, document their work, communicate clearly with a non-technical business owner, and build systems that do not depend on one individual developer.

Initial Project

The first assignment will be an up-to-20-hour paid transition and takeover project. Successful completion may lead to ongoing part-time development work and increased responsibility.
