Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Lead Research Specialist responsible for identifying and verifying key decision-makers within target organizations.
The primary focus of this role is to research organizations, identify the most relevant executives or leadership contacts, and accurately gather their professional contact information using tools such as Google, LinkedIn, and Clay. The Lead Research Specialist will ensure that all information entered into company research spreadsheets is accurate, relevant, and properly verified before moving to the next prospect.
The research process includes confirming the legitimacy of organizations, locating official websites and LinkedIn company pages, identifying appropriate leadership contacts, and validating contact information.
Key Responsibilities
-Research assigned organizations using Google, company websites, LinkedIn, and other reliable public sources.
-Confirm that each target organization is legitimate and identify its official website and relevant company information.
-Locate and review the organization's official LinkedIn company page.
-Identify the most appropriate decision-maker or leadership contact based on roles such as:
CEO
President
Vice President
Director
Executive
Chief-level executive
Managing Partner
Partner
Other relevant senior leadership positions.
-Verify that the selected lead has an active LinkedIn profile before using Clay, helping reduce unnecessary credit usage and improve lead accuracy.
-Record the lead's name, position/title, and LinkedIn profile in the assigned research sheet.
-Use Clay to identify and validate the target contact's professional
-Confirm whether Clay identifies an active or verified work
-Research the contact's direct phone number or the organization's main office phone number through the official website, ----LinkedIn, or other reliable public sources.
-Cross-check all information before entering it into the database or spreadsheet.
-Use ChatGPT as a secondary research source when necessary, but verify any information against LinkedIn or the -organization's official website before recording it.
-Complete all available required information for each organization before proceeding to the next assigned company.
Required Skills
Strong online research skills are essential for this position. The ideal candidate should be comfortable navigating LinkedIn, Google, company websites, spreadsheets, and lead enrichment platforms such as Clay.
Candidates should also demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to distinguish reliable information from inaccurate or outdated sources, good judgment when identifying company decision-makers, organized data-entry habits, and the ability to follow a repeatable research process consistently.

Key Performance Expectations
Success in this role will be measured primarily by the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of researched lead information, rather than simply the number of contacts collected.
Researchers are expected to select the most relevant decision-maker, verify LinkedIn presence before consuming Clay credits, provide validated contact information whenever available, properly cross-check research, and maintain accurate and organized records.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is highly resourceful, patient, organized, and comfortable performing detailed online research. They should be able to investigate companies independently, identify the correct senior-level contact even when information is not immediately available, and carefully verify information before submitting it.
This role is especially suited for someone who enjoys lead generation, prospect research, LinkedIn research, data enrichment, and database management and who understands that clean, accurate data is critical to successful outreach campaigns.
