Long-Term Role | Automation, Proxies, Technical Systems & Ticketing
PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING
We are currently completing recruitment for a separate Personal Assistant / Operations role, so although applications for this position are open now, interviews are unlikely to begin until around mid-October.
If you apply, please don’t worry if you don’t receive an immediate response. I am intentionally opening this position early so I can start finding the right person.
About the Role
I run a ticketing/resale business and am looking for a technically skilled person who can eventually take ownership of the technical and automation side of the business.
This is not necessarily a role for a senior software developer.
I am much more interested in someone who genuinely understands:
automation software
proxies and networking
browser automation
running multiple tasks efficiently
technical troubleshooting
APIs / webhooks / automation concepts
logs and error diagnosis
scaling software setups
testing different configurations
learning private or unfamiliar software quickly
I am willing to invest in the best software, tools, proxy providers, servers and infrastructure where it makes commercial sense.
What I need is somebody who understands the technical world well enough to make sure those tools are being used properly and efficiently.
What You Would Be Doing
During important ticket releases and on-sale events, you would be responsible for preparing our technical setup in advance and then operating the relevant automation software during the event.
This could include:
Configuring ticketing automation software before events
Preparing task files, accounts, payment information and event settings
Running multiple automated tasks during releases
Monitoring software while events are live
Diagnosing failed tasks or technical problems
Reviewing logs and identifying why something failed
Testing different setups to improve performance
Managing and testing proxy infrastructure
Comparing different proxy providers/types
Understanding which network setups perform best on different platforms
Researching new tools and technical methods
Speaking with software providers, developers and other experienced operators
Joining relevant private communities and learning from people already operating at a high level
Documenting successful configurations and processes
Advising me when better hardware, servers, VPSs or infrastructure would improve results
You would not be expected to build all of our software from scratch.
I am happy to purchase existing specialist software where appropriate.
The important part is that you understand the technology well enough to configure it, operate it, troubleshoot it, test it and continually improve the setup.
Proxies / Networking
This is a very important part of the position.
I am especially interested in candidates who understand areas such as:
Residential proxies
ISP proxies
Datacenter proxies
Mobile proxies
Static vs rotating proxies
Proxy authentication
Geo-location
Latency
Connection quality
Session persistence
Success rates
Proxy testing
Different providers and proxy pools
Diagnosing whether failures are caused by software, network, proxy quality or another part of the setup
You do not need to know absolutely everything on day one, but you should already be technically comfortable with this world.
If the word proxy means little more to you than changing your IP address, this probably isn’t the right role.
Coding / Development
Coding experience is a bonus, not a strict requirement.
It would be useful if you have experience with things such as:
Python
JavaScript
Browser automation
APIs
Webhooks
JSON
Playwright / Selenium
Google Apps Script
n8n
Make
Zapier
GitHub
VS Code / Cursor
Claude / Claude Code
AI-assisted development
For example, if a repetitive workflow could be improved with a simple browser script or automation, it would be great if you could build or adapt something yourself.
However, I am not hiring you primarily to build complex software from scratch.
Technical understanding, troubleshooting and operating systems effectively are more important.
Hardware / Infrastructure
Initially, you may operate tools from your own computer.
A reliable device and strong internet connection are therefore important.
However, I am completely open to investing in better infrastructure if needed.
For example:
VPS
cloud servers
remote desktops
dedicated machines
upgraded hardware
improved internet/networking
additional proxy services
I do not expect you to personally fund these things.
If you believe we need better infrastructure to scale, I want you to be capable of researching the options, explaining them to me in simple terms and helping set them up.
Research & Networking
A lot of the best information in this industry is not publicly documented.
I can provide access to people and communities where experienced operators discuss software, infrastructure and new developments.
I already have strong relationships within the ticketing world.
What I need is somebody technical enough to understand those conversations, ask the right questions and turn the information into something we can actually implement.
You should be naturally curious and enjoy:
investigating things
testing different setups
reading technical discussions
comparing tools
asking intelligent questions
figuring out how systems work
experimenting until something performs better
What I’m Looking For
The ideal person is:
Very comfortable with computers
Technically curious
Independent
Hard-working
Ambitious
Analytical
Patient when troubleshooting
Comfortable researching things they do not understand
Able to explain technical issues in simple English
Interested in automation
Interested in networking/proxies
Comfortable learning private/unfamiliar software
Someone who actually enjoys the “geeky” side of technology
This is not a role where you can message me every time something technical goes wrong.
I am not a developer myself.
I can provide the business context, money for tools, access to the right people and a clear commercial goal.
You need to be the person who can figure out the technical side.
Long-Term Opportunity
This is intended to become a long-term position.
Initially, the work may be more event-based while we build the setup and determine exactly how much ongoing work is required.
Longer term, I expect this person to become the main technical person within the ticketing business.
We already have other VAs handling administrative ticketing tasks.
Your role would sit above much of that operational work from a technical perspective.
As the business grows, you may eventually:
own the technical infrastructure
choose and test new tools
improve automation processes
coordinate technical projects
advise on software/infrastructure purchases
potentially help recruit or manage additional technical staff if required
I am looking for somebody who could potentially work with the business for years, not a short-term freelancer.
Working Hours
This is still being finalised.
The role could initially be:
event/project based
or potentially become:
a regular Monday–Friday position
The key requirement is that you must be available for important ticket releases and events, because that is when the systems need to be operated and monitored.
Some releases may take place outside normal Philippine working hours.
Flexibility will therefore be important.
Salary / Compensation
To be discussed.
I understand this is a more technical position than a standard VA role.
At the same time, the business is still building toward the point where this technical operation can scale significantly, so I am not currently looking to hire an expensive senior developer.
I am particularly interested in a junior or mid-level technical person with strong potential, who wants to grow alongside the business.
Depending on the candidate and structure of the role, compensation could potentially involve:
fixed monthly salary
project/event-based payments
performance/profit-based bonuses
or a combination
We can discuss this properly with the right candidates.
How to Apply
Start your application with the word:
PROXY
Then answer the following questions:
Tell me about your technical background.
What operating systems do you regularly use?
Explain your experience with proxies.
What is the difference between residential, ISP, datacenter and mobile proxies?
Have you ever tested different proxy providers or proxy pools? How did you compare them?
Have you ever worked with browser automation or automation software?
Have you used Python, JavaScript, Playwright, Selenium, Puppeteer or similar tools?
Have you worked with APIs, webhooks or JSON?
Have you ever used a VPS, cloud server, remote desktop or dedicated server?
Have you used tools such as n8n, Make or Zapier?
Do you use ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or other AI coding tools?
Tell me about a technical problem you had to solve where you initially did not know the answer.
If I gave you unfamiliar software with limited documentation and asked you to learn it, configure it and operate it independently, how would you approach it?
How would you determine whether a failed task was caused by:
the software
the proxy/network
the account/session
the website
or the computer/server itself?
What computer do you currently use? Please include:
CPU
RAM
operating system
internet speed if known
What are your normal working hours in Philippine time?
Would you be available outside normal hours for important ticket releases?
What monthly salary or compensation structure would you be looking for?
Are you looking for something temporary, or would you be interested in becoming the long-term technical person for one business?
Why does this particular position interest you?
Please do not worry if you do not hear from me immediately. Interviews are expected to begin around mid-October while I finish hiring for another position first.
