JOB OVERVIEW

Video Editor for YouTube Commentary Channel

I’m looking for a skilled video editor to help edit content for The Uzo Show, a growing YouTube commentary channel focused on politics, culture, relationships, current events, and viral topics.

The editing style should feel similar to channels like MTR, Anton Daniels, Oshay Duke Jackson, and Brandon Lehman — clean, engaging, professional, and fast-paced without unnecessary animations every few seconds.

What You’ll Be Editing

Most videos will consist of:

Me reacting to or commenting on another video
Talking-head commentary
Split-screen reactions
News clips, TikToks, interviews, or viral videos
Occasional monologues
Your Responsibilities

You should be able to:

Remove mistakes, repeated sentences, awkward pauses, filler words, and dead space
Clean up awkward reactions or facial expressions when possible
Make my commentary flow naturally even if the raw recording is imperfect
Tighten pacing and remove anything that makes the video feel slow
Add strategic zoom-ins, punch-ins, and camera changes
Insert supporting screenshots, headlines, images, clips, or B-roll when appropriate
Add captions/text when it improves the video
Balance and improve audio
Understand comedic timing and commentary pacing
Turn raw footage into a polished video without needing constant instructions

I do not want excessive animations, sound effects, memes, or distracting edits. The personality and commentary should remain the focus.

Workload

Initially: 5–10 videos per week

Eventually: 10–15+ videos per week

Most videos will be approximately 10–30 minutes finished length.

This can grow into a consistent long-term position for the right editor.

Schedule

Approximately 25–30 hours per week to start.

Pay

Starting at approximately $700/month, depending on skill, speed, availability, and experience.

There will be opportunities for increased pay as the channel and workload grow.

Requirements
Strong English comprehension
Experience editing YouTube commentary, podcasts, reactions, or talking-head content
Fast turnaround
Reliable communication
Good judgment — you should know what to cut without destroying the speaker’s point
Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or similar professional editing software
Must be comfortable receiving large raw video files
