JOB OVERVIEW

McCarthy Fabrication LLC (MFAB) is a structural, miscellaneous, and ornamental metals fabricator and installer in Sanford, Florida serving general contractors, architectural clients, and theme park and entertainment clients. We are hiring two full-time remote VAs to support our estimating and front-office operations.

What you will do

-Review construction drawings (architectural and structural PDFs) and produce clear markups identifying metal fabrication scope
-Build basic quantity takeoffs and preliminary estimates using MFAB estimating templates
-Monitor and filter the estimating inbox: identify bid invitations, addenda, and RFIs, discard noise, and flag time-sensitive items
-Enter and update jobs, contacts, and documents in JobTread (our CRM and project management system)
-Handle basic written and phone communication with customers: bid acknowledgments, document requests, status updates

Requirements

•Written and spoken English at a native or near-native level. Accented English is fine; grammar errors, unclear writing, or difficulty understanding US construction vocabulary are not.
•Demonstrated ability to read construction drawings and specifications. Provide examples or be prepared to complete a paid drawing markup test after the interview
•Comfortable with Excel and PDF markup tools (Bluebeam, Adobe, or equivalent)
•Reliable internet, quiet workspace, prior experience in [construction estimating / architectural drafting / civil or structural engineering / quantity surveying] preferred

Nice to have

•Experience with JobTread, Procore, or BuildingConnected
•Familiarity with structural steel, stairs, railings, or miscellaneous metals
•Engineering or architecture degree
•Work hours that overlap with US work hours
