JOB OVERVIEW

PERFORMANCE VIDEO EDITOR – UGC ADS

We’re looking for a performance-focused video editor to work with our e-commerce brand, SHAPSS.

This is more than just editing videos. We want someone who understands UGC ads, hooks, retention, pacing and creative testing — someone who can take existing footage and turn it into multiple ad variations so we can continuously test new angles and improve performance.

What you'll be doing:

Edit UGC videos for TikTok, Instagram and Meta ads
Create different hooks and openings from the same footage
Test different angles, messaging, pacing, captions and CTAs
Create multiple variations of winning concepts
Add captions, text overlays, B-roll, sound effects and cuts where appropriate
Work quickly on new creative iterations
Take feedback and make revisions quickly

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience editing UGC / DTC / performance ads
Understands what makes people stop scrolling and keep watching
Has a strong understanding of hooks and retention
Is confident using CapCut, Premiere Pro or After Effects
Has strong English and attention to detail
Is fast, reliable and organised
Can edit for performance, not just aesthetics

Experience with fashion, beauty, wellness or lifestyle brands is a bonus.

TRIAL TASK

We will provide you with raw UGC footage from SHAPSS.

Your task will be to:

Create 3 20–30 second UGC ad
Create 3 different hooks/openings for the same concept
Use captions/text overlays where appropriate
Keep the pacing engaging and suitable for TikTok/Meta
Include a clear CTA

We are specifically looking at your ability to create variations and think about performance — not just how polished the edit looks. if we are impress with the trial test we will compensate your time with a fee so it is not going to be free if you put in the work.

We are looking for someone to work with us long-term. We will be testing new creative angles regularly, so being able to turn around strong iterations quickly is very important.
