COLD CALLER / APPOINTMENT SETTER
Part-time, remote, Monday to Friday, 2:00 to 5:00 PM US Pacific (5:00 to 8:00 AM Manila)

Looking to grow our team. One part-time cold caller, 15 hours a week, who will undergo a two-week paid trial before being brought on for the long run.

We are more than a cold-calling gig. SoftOut builds custom software and automations for local service businesses in the Sacramento, California area: plumbers, HVAC, electricians, cleaners and contractors. The first caller who books consistently is the one who trains the second caller and runs the calling team. If you seek a long-term, advancing seat, this is for you.

PSA

Every dial is recorded and every booked call is checked. If you log dials you did not make, book calls the owner never agreed to, use an autodialer, or call for another company during our window, you will be let go immediately. Our list, our script, our phone number and our sheet stay with us when you leave. No exceptions.

We are seeking an experienced caller who can hit a number without being watched. There is no training. If you have never cold called US businesses for pay and cannot tell us your numbers, do not complete this application.

Job Responsibilities

- 75 dials a day, Monday to Friday, 2:00 to 5:00 PM Pacific. That is 5:00 to 8:00 AM Manila now, and 6:00 to 9:00 AM from November 1 when US clocks change. Fixed hours.
- Run our script. There is no sale. It is an offer of a 15-minute call with the owner of SoftOut.
- Book the time and send the invite before the next dial.
- Log every dial and booked call in our sheet with the outcome and one line on what the owner said.

Requirements

- Cold calling or appointment-setting experience to US businesses, with numbers you can state: dials, conversations, bookings, and over what period
- Clear, natural English on the phone. A plumber in California has to keep listening.
- Free 5:00 to 8:00 AM Manila every weekday, no other client in that window
- Quiet room, laptop or computer, headset, wired or fiber internet
- A Google account for the sheet and Slack for the team

Compensation

- $10 an hour USD, paid every Friday. Payment by Wise only.
- Independent contractor. W-8BEN signed before the first payment
- US holidays off
- Leads, script, US phone line, calendar and website link supplied. Nothing to buy.

What we are looking for

This should be simple. We want someone who does not need supervision, is on the line at 4:55 every morning, and treats the person on the other end like a person. Owners of plumbing companies can hear a script being read from a mile away. You have to sound like a neighbor, not a call center. We track dials, conversations and bookings every week. The trial bar is at least one booked appointment every work week. Below that after two weeks, we part ways with no hard feelings. Loyalty matters most to us. We are looking for someone who stays for years and can see themselves running the calling team. If you've made it this far, make the title of your application your favorite color.

We will not accept candidates who work for another client during our calling window. Slack is required for team communication.
