Schedule: Monday to Friday, US Central Time hours (approximately 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM Manila time). Some flexibility for the right person.

About Us
Cousins Distribution is a US-based wholesale distributor of disposable goods — nitrile gloves, can liners, and janitorial and restaurant supplies. We import by ocean container and ship to customers across the United States through a network of 3PL warehouses and freight carriers. We are a small, fast-moving team, which means the person in this seat owns their work and sees the direct impact of doing it well.
The Role
You are the person who makes sure every order gets on a truck at the right price and lands at the right dock on the right day. You will quote freight, book it, enter it, track it, and communicate it. When something goes sideways — a missed pickup, a short delivery, a warehouse that will not take an appointment — you are the one who catches it before the customer does.
This is not a passive data-entry job. We need someone who picks up the phone or sends the email without being told to, and who treats an untracked shipment as a problem to solve today.
What You Will Do
Freight Quoting and Booking
• Request and compare rate quotes from trucking companies, freight brokers, and carrier portals for every outbound shipment
• Determine whether a shipment should move LTL or FTL and book accordingly
• Identify the correct freight class, accessorials (liftgate, inside delivery, appointment, residential, limited access), and pallet configuration so quotes come back accurate and invoices do not surprise us later
• Flag pricing that looks off and push back on carriers when it does
3PL and Warehouse Coordination
• Work with our 3PL partners to schedule outbound deliveries and pickups
• Submit and confirm delivery appointments with receiving warehouses
• Issue and verify Bills of Lading, packing lists, and pickup instructions
• Chase Proof of Delivery documents and file them where they belong
Systems and Records
• Enter all shipment, order, and carrier information into MySys accurately and on time
• Maintain and update our Google Sheets shipment log — dates, carriers, PRO and BOL numbers, costs, status, exceptions — so it is always current and always correct
• Keep records clean enough that anyone on the team can open a sheet and know exactly where every order stands
Communication
• Send tracking information and delivery ETAs to receiving warehouses and customers proactively, before they ask
• Handle daily email correspondence with carriers, brokers, 3PLs, and warehouse contacts in clear, professional written English
• Escalate delays, damages, shortages, and detention issues quickly, with the relevant documents already attached
• Open and follow through on freight claims when needed
What You Need to Have
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with US domestic freight — LTL, FTL, or both. You should be able to explain the difference between the two and when each makes sense without looking it up.
• Working knowledge of freight class, accessorial charges, BOLs, PODs, pallet counts, and dimensional and weight considerations
• Experience requesting quotes from carriers and brokers and comparing them on more than just price
• Strong Google Sheets skills — filters, sorting, formulas, conditional formatting. You keep spreadsheets clean, not messy.
• Excellent written English. You will write dozens of emails a day to American carriers and warehouse managers. They must read as clear, polite, and professional.
• Comfortable in web-based systems (ERP, WMS, TMS platforms, carrier portals). Experience with MySys is a plus but we will train the right person.
• Reliable, fast internet connection and a backup power and internet plan
• Ability to work US Central Time hours consistently
• Organized, detail-obsessed, and proactive — someone who follows up without being reminded
Nice to Have
• Experience with ocean imports, drayage, container deliveries, or customs documentation
• Experience working directly with 3PL warehouses in the US
• Background in wholesale, distribution, or supply chain
• Freight claims experience
What Success Looks Like
• First 30 days: You are quoting and booking routine shipments on your own, MySys entries are same-day, and the shipment log is current every single morning.
• By 60 days: You are managing carrier and 3PL relationships directly, tracking info goes out before anyone asks for it, and problems get flagged to management with a proposed solution attached.
• By 90 days: Freight costs are measurably better because you are shopping rates properly, nothing falls through the cracks, and we stop thinking about logistics day to day because you have it handled.
