Turn product specifications into content that sells.
We’re looking for a Product Content Writer – E-commerce & Retail who can take information about a physical consumer product and turn it into clear, compelling, and commercially useful content across Amazon, e-commerce, retail, packaging, and product launches.
This is much more than writing product descriptions.
You’ll be responsible for helping transform a new product into a complete, retail-ready content package — from product titles and selling points to Amazon listings, SEO keywords, packaging copy, infographic content, and retailer materials.
You’ll work closely with product development, sales, design, and factory teams to gather accurate product information and turn technical specifications into content that consumers can actually understand.
What you’ll do:
- Write product titles and product naming
- Write short and long product descriptions
- Develop feature/benefit statements and key selling points
- Write retail, Amazon, and e-commerce bullet points
- Conduct keyword research and develop SEO-friendly product content
- Research competitive products and help identify how our products should be positioned
- Organize technical product information including dimensions, materials, capacity, wattage, accessories, certifications, and warranty information
- Create and maintain product specification sheets
- Develop Amazon and e-commerce listing content, including titles, bullets, descriptions, keywords, and A+ content direction
- Write copy and provide direction for product images and infographics
- Develop suggested image shot lists, feature callouts, lifestyle image direction, and comparison concepts
- Prepare product information needed for retailer item setup
- Work with graphic designers to turn written content into polished product sell sheets and launch materials
- Ensure product information remains accurate and consistent across packaging, retailer websites, presentations, catalogs, spec sheets, and e-commerce listings
- Build a complete Product Launch Packet for every new SKU
Your content may include:
- Product names and titles
- Short and long descriptions
- Key features
- Consumer benefits
- Key selling points
- Competitive advantages
- Technical specifications
- Dimensions and weight
- What’s included
- Retail/e-commerce bullet points
- SEO and search keywords
- Amazon listing copy
- A+ content direction
- Product image shot lists
- Infographic copy
- Lifestyle image direction
- Product specification sheets
- Retailer sell sheet content
- Packaging copy
- FAQs and important product information
What we’re looking for:
- Experience writing product content, e-commerce content, retail content, product marketing content, or similar
- Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to make technical information easy to understand
- Experience creating product titles, descriptions, bullets, selling points, or marketplace listings
- Understanding of SEO and keyword-driven product content
- Experience with Amazon or other e-commerce/retail marketplaces
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across multiple content formats
- Highly organized and comfortable managing large amounts of product information
- Ability to collaborate with designers, product teams, sales teams, and other stakeholders
- Experience with consumer products, small appliances, housewares, electronics, home products, or other retail consumer goods is highly valuable
- Experience working with Amazon, Walmart, Target, Costco, BJ’s, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Best Buy, Macy’s, or other major retailers would be especially valuable
Important:
This is not a general content writing or social media role.
We’re looking for someone who understands physical products and e-commerce/retail content — someone who can take technical product information and turn it into messaging that is clear, persuasive, searchable, and ready for market.
If you’re the person who looks at a product specification sheet and immediately starts thinking, “Okay, how do we sell this?”, this could be a great fit.
