Job Overview
Hi! I run TopSheets, a growing digital product business selling spreadsheet templates (Google Sheets + Excel) on Etsy and my own website. I'm looking for ONE reliable, detail-oriented VA to become my long-term creative right hand.
Right now, the biggest project is editing my catalog of YouTube tutorial videos. Alongside and beyond that, you'll create short-form social media content (reels/TikToks), Pinterest pins, and Canva listing mockups — the ongoing creative work that keeps the business running and growing.
This is a part-time role (roughly 10–15 hours/week) built around a weekly task list — I send you the list at the start of the week, you deliver by the end of the week. You choose your own hours. No time tracking, no fixed schedule. I care about finished work, not hours online.
What You'll Do
YouTube tutorial editing (current big project):
Edit screen-recording tutorial videos (8–20 min finished). I provide a rough cut with the audio, screen recording, and talking-head footage already synced and mistakes removed. You make it YouTube-ready: zoom-ins and highlight callouts on the cells/formulas being discussed, pacing polish, text overlays
Clean, simple editing style — NO flashy transitions, NO MrBeast-style effects. Think calm, clear, helpful
Cut 1–2 vertical Shorts from each tutorial
I handle thumbnails, descriptions, and publishing myself — your job ends at the finished export
Pinterest:
Design pins in Canva using my brand templates (static + video pins)
Deliver a set number of finished pins each week — I handle scheduling and descriptions myself
Canva / Listings:
Upgrade/create listing image sets for Etsy and my website (device mockups, feature slides)
Adapt existing graphics for German, Spanish, and French editions (I provide translations)
Cut short looping preview videos for Etsy listings
Social media content (growing part of the role):
Create short-form reels/TikToks showing our templates in use — aesthetic, satisfying, planner-community style content
I provide the screen recordings and brand kit; you bring the editing and the eye
As the tutorial catalog wraps up, this becomes a bigger share of the weekly list
Requirements
Proven video editing experience (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar) — portfolio required
Comfortable in Canva
Strong written English
Reliable internet and a computer that can edit 1080p video smoothly
Organized: consistent file naming, uses Google Drive, communicates proactively when something is unclear or delayed
Bonus (not required): experience with Pinterest graphics or planner/stationery-niche content
Pay & Process
Paid trial week: I will hire 3 candidates for a one-week paid trial ($50 flat). Everyone gets the same task list and the same raw footage. One person gets the ongoing role.
Ongoing: flat weekly rate of $75/week for approximately 10–15 hours of tasks, paid weekly via [Wise/PayPal/Payoneer]. Workload flexes week to week and balances out.
Long-term role. I'm building this business for years, and I want someone who grows with it.
How to Apply
Start your application with the word PIVOT so I know you read this posting.
Link 3–5 examples of videos you've edited. At least one should be a tutorial, screen-recording, or explainer-style video if you have one. Tell me in one line what YOU did on each (edited only? added graphics? full production?).
Link 1–2 examples of short-form vertical content you've made (Reels, TikToks, or Shorts). If you don't have any yet, say so honestly — but examples are a big plus.
If you have Canva design work (pins, social graphics, product images), link a portfolio or 2–3 examples.
In 2–3 sentences, tell me: what's one thing that makes a tutorial video easy to follow?
Link one Instagram or TikTok account (any brand) whose short-form content style you love, and tell me in one sentence why.
Tell me your experience level with Canva and Pinterest (it's okay if it's beginner — just be honest).
Applications that don't follow these steps will not be considered. Thanks, and I'm excited to meet you!
