ABOUT US
Universe Productions runs a network of US-based YouTube channels, including Gumball Universe (500K+ subscribers) and SML Universe (250K+ subscribers), plus several newer channels in commentary, recap, and horror. We have a remote team of editors, scriptwriters, and voice actors, and we upload multiple longform videos every week.

THE ROLE
We are hiring a Junior Edit Reviewer to work directly under our Lead Editor. You will do the first look on every edit that comes in from our editors: watch it, catch mistakes, and give editors clear, specific feedback so the next draft is better. By handling the first pass, you save our Lead Editor time so they only need to do the final check before upload. You are not here to re-edit videos yourself. You are here to know exactly what makes a video good and communicate it.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Review rough and final cuts for multiple channels against our channel style guides and checklists
- Leave timestamped feedback (pacing, retention, cuts, zooms, SFX, music, captions, transitions, text, audio levels)
- Catch technical issues: audio clipping, black frames, missing assets, sync issues, typos, export problems
- Check censorship and copyright-sensitive content against our channel rules
- Make sure editors are using our Premiere Pro and After Effects presets correctly and consistently
- Flag repeat problems and underperforming editors to the Lead Editor
- Suggest improvements to presets, templates, and style guides as you spot patterns

REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of video editing experience, ideally YouTube longform (commentary, recap, storytelling, or entertainment)
- Previous experience reviewing, QC, supervising, or leading other editors is a big plus
- Advanced Adobe Premiere Pro and strong After Effects skills
- Comfortable working with presets, templates, MOGRTs, and project file organization
- A strong eye for retention and pacing: you understand why viewers click away and how to fix it
- Excellent written English. Your feedback must be clear, direct, and kind
- Available 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST (US Eastern), Monday to Friday. This is a night shift in the Philippines
- Reliable internet and a power backup plan
- Comfortable with ---------- , Trello, Google Drive, and ---------- style review tools

NICE TO HAVE
- Portfolio of YouTube channels you have edited for, with view counts
- Knowledge of cartoon or animation commentary content
- Thumbnail or packaging sense

SCHEDULE AND PAY
- Full time, 40 hours per week, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, weekends off
- $1,000 USD per month, paid monthly via Wise
- Paid US holidays plus paid time off after probation
- Growth path: you start as the first-look reviewer under our Lead Editor and learn our standards directly from them. Over time, as you prove yourself, you can move up to Senior Edit Reviewer (handling final approvals) and eventually into an editing leadership role, with raises at each step
- Long-term role with a growing company (we are launching new channels this year)
