You will be trained on our editing services, including Copy Editing, Line Editing, Content Editing, Executive Content Editing, Developmental Editing, Proofreading, Book Formatting, and author-support services. Service cheat sheets and approved templates will be provided.

• Make warm outbound calls to active leads
• Send clear client
• Help clients understand the correct next step for their manuscript
• Recommend one appropriate service or next step, not a confusing list of options
• Support add-on recommendations when appropriate
• Communicate professionally with editors about assignments, client needs, and delivery issues
• Document client communication clearly by Job ID inside the CRM
• Use approved templates and service language
• Use AI carefully, but verify accuracy before sending anything
• Identify and escalate complaints, refund requests, pricing exceptions, deadline risks, editor-quality concerns, technical issues, and high-value client issues
Required Skills:
• Confident phone communication
• Clear, easily understood spoken English
• Strong written English
• Warm outbound call experience
• Customer service or client follow-up experience
• CRM experience or strong comfort learning older systems
• Accurate note-taking and follow-up tracking
• Independent ownership of assigned work
• Practical problem-solving
• Calm, professional communication with hesitant clients
• Ability to use AI without relying on it blindly
This role is not a fit if you:
• avoid phone calls
• are not available on weekends
• only want weekday work
• need a modern CRM to stay organized
• wait for instructions before taking the next obvious step
• send vague “just checking in” messages
• rely on AI without checking facts, links, and service details
• dislike sales follow-up
• require constant approval before completing routine assigned tasks
• want a full-time role immediately
Tools Used:
• FirstEditing Admin Center / custom CRM
• Gmail
• Google Drive
• Slack
• GHL phone / tasks / SMS / chat
• Approved AI prompts/templates
• FirstEditing service pages and training materials
Trial Structure:
