His content covers topics including:

The challenge is simple.
Take complex scientific and historical ideas and turn them into short videos that everyday people want to watch, share and debate.
What You'll Do
You will work with long-form podcasts, interviews and lectures.
Your job is to:
- Find the strongest moments without being given timestamps
- Identify hooks that can stop someone scrolling
- Turn long conversations into 45-90 second videos
- Edit for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
- Add dynamic captions
- Add relevant B-roll and visual aids
- Use charts, graphics and images where they improve understanding
- Remove unnecessary pauses and sections
- Keep complex ideas understandable without changing their meaning
This is not simply a video-cutting role.
You need to understand what Jim is saying and identify what will interest an audience.
What We're Looking For
Short-form experience
You have edited TikToks, Reels or YouTube Shorts from long-form content.
Strong editorial judgement
You can watch a long interview and find the 60 seconds most likely to generate discussion.
Retention-focused editing
You understand hooks, pacing, captions, pattern changes and viewer retention.
Software skills
You can use Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut or similar software.
Interest in complex subjects
You are comfortable editing discussions about science, psychology, history and society.
You do not need to be an academic. You do need to understand the material before editing it.
How To Apply
Please include:
1. A link to examples of your recent short-form video work.
2. Your preferred editing software.
3. Your expected hourly or monthly rate.
4. Your normal turnaround time for one 45-90 second video.
