JOB OVERVIEW

I'm looking for a talented Short-Form Video Editor + Social Media Manager to help me grow my Instagram and tik tok as a running/fitness creator.

My goal is to build a large running-focused audience, grow my Instagram, eventually work with running/fitness brands, and develop a recognizable personal brand.

I am an active marathon runner and will provide plenty of raw footage from training, races, workouts, travel, and everyday life.

This is NOT simply a video editing job.

I want someone who understands Instagram Reels, storytelling, hooks, trends, retention, and creator growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Video Editing
Edit Instagram Reels from raw iPhone/camera footage
Create engaging 15–60 second short-form videos
Create strong hooks in the first 1–2 seconds
Add captions/subtitles
Add music and trending audio when appropriate
Add running pace, distance, workout and race information
Use B-roll, zooms, cuts, transitions and other editing techniques
Create different versions of strong concepts to test what performs best
Repurpose content for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
Content Strategy
Research successful running/fitness creators
Identify current Reels trends and formats
Come up with new content ideas
Create a weekly/monthly content calendar
Tell me what footage I should film
Develop recurring content series
Help improve hooks, storytelling and retention
Instagram Management
Write captions
Upload and schedule posts
Optimize Reels
Research relevant hashtags/keywords
Monitor comments and engagement
Track weekly/monthly analytics
Identify our best-performing content
Recommend changes based on analytics

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR

You should:

Have strong Instagram/TikTok Reels editing experience
Understand short-form storytelling
Understand what makes people stop scrolling
Have excellent attention to detail
Have strong English communication skills
Understand Western/American audiences
Be creative and proactive
Be comfortable giving me ideas and feedback
Understand Instagram analytics
Be able to recognize why a video performed well or poorly
Be reliable and meet deadlines

Experience working with fitness, running, sports, lifestyle or personal brands is a major plus.

Shortlisted candidates will be given a small paid editing test using my actual running footage.

I'm looking for someone who can become a long-term member of my content team, not just someone who can edit one video.

Potential for increased hours/pay based on performance and account growth.
