JOB OVERVIEW

Remote – Philippines | Project-Based | Potential Ongoing Work

I am looking for an experienced Apparel/Fashion Designer to work with me on a project-by-project basis for my New Zealand clothing brand.

I create many of my own concepts using AI, images, sketches, photographs and creative direction. I need someone who can take what I have created and professionally recreate, refine and prepare it so that the finished product is ready for printing or manufacturing.

HOW I LIKE TO WORK

An important part of this role is being comfortable working with me live through AnyDesk or screen sharing when required.

Rather than going backwards and forwards with multiple messages and revisions, I would sometimes like us to work on the design together in real time.

For example, while you are working in Illustrator or Photoshop, I may ask you to:

Move an element
Change its size or placement
Remove part of a pattern
Adjust a colour
Change the shape of something
Separate an artwork element
Try the design on a different garment
Make the print larger or smaller
Make small changes until the design looks right

This allows us to make decisions on the spot, so you understand exactly what I am trying to achieve rather than having to guess my creative direction.

You therefore need to be comfortable communicating in English and working collaboratively through AnyDesk/screen sharing when needed.

PAYMENT

NZ$30 per completed design/piece – all inclusive.

This is freelance/project-based work, not an hourly position. There are no guaranteed weekly hours. I will provide projects as I need them.

Depending on the project, the NZ$30 includes:

Recreating/refining my AI-generated concept or artwork
Reasonable live adjustments through AnyDesk/screen sharing
Design revisions required to achieve the agreed concept
Cleaning and refining artwork
Vectorising artwork where required
Separating design elements where required
Colourways/colour adjustments
High-resolution transparent PNG
Print-ready/vector files
Editable/source files
Garment mockup
Correct print placement and dimensions
Technical flats where required
Complete manufacturer-ready tech pack where required
Fabric, trim, label and construction specifications where applicable
Final files organised and ready to send directly to my printer or overseas manufacturer

The goal is that when a piece is completed, I should not need another designer to finish or prepare it for production.

ADDITIONAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

I would also prefer someone who has experience with, or can assist me with:

Clothing and garment sourcing
Finding suitable manufacturers
Ordering and developing samples
Fabric and trim sourcing
Communicating specifications to overseas manufacturers
Reviewing samples against our tech packs
Making production amendments
Preparing designs for embroidery, DTF, screen printing and sublimation

Larger sourcing or product-development projects can be discussed separately.

SKILLS I'M LOOKING FOR

You should have genuine experience in apparel/fashion design and production, not simply Canva or social-media graphic design.

Experience with the following is preferred:

Adobe Illustrator • Adobe Photoshop • Vector Artwork • Apparel Graphics • Tech Packs • Technical Flats • Garment Mockups • Print-Ready Artwork • Clothing Manufacturing

CLO 3D or similar garment-design experience would be an advantage.
