## Job overview
We are looking for a genuinely high-level senior video editor and motion designer for a premium, cinematic mini-series in the personal-development space.
This is not standard talking-head or podcast editing. The series needs to feel like a high-end documentary meets a cinematic masterclass: visually bold, emotionally engaging, modern, and highly bingeable.
Depending on your skill set, your work may include editing long-form episodes, building high-end motion graphics and kinetic typography, creating the visual effects to explain discussed concepts, designing transitions, compositing/VFX, and helping create a hero trailer and selected short-form launch clips.
## What we’re looking for
- Expert-level Adobe Premiere Pro skills: long-form editing, story pacing, colour/audio fundamentals, and excellent project organisation.
- Strong After Effects skills: motion graphics, kinetic typography, compositing, visual effects, and custom transitions.
- A portfolio showing cinematic long-form storytelling, premium branded content, documentaries, music videos, narrative YouTube, or similarly high-production work.
- Excellent taste in visual storytelling, pacing, music, sound design, typography, and contemporary design.
- Strong creative judgment: knowing when to use big visual moments and when to let an emotional moment breathe.
- Clear English communication, reliability, and the ability to take direction while bringing strong creative ideas to the table.
Big advantage: 3D, animation, or advanced VFX/compositing experience in Blender, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine, DaVinci Resolve, or similar. This is not essential if you are exceptional in editing and motion design, but please tell us about it if it is part of your skill set.
## This role is not for you if
Your work relies mainly on repetitive templates, generic social-media edits, auto-captions, or random stock footage. We are not looking for generic visuals, cheesy effects, PowerPoint-style explainers, or fast cutting for the sake of fast cutting.
We want a premium, intentional visual world with editorial taste, strong rhythm, and original ideas.
## What we offer
- A creatively ambitious project with a clear visual direction and strong existing footage library.
- The chance to work on a flagship cinematic series rather than high-volume, templated content.
- Potential for continued full-time long-form YouTube editing work after the project for the right person.
## How to apply
Please send:
1. Your portfolio or showreel, with your 2–3 most relevant examples first.
2. A short note explaining your specific role in each example (editor, motion designer, VFX/compositor, etc.).
3. Your rate expectations or preferred project-pricing structure.
4. Your availability, time zone, and expected AEST overlap.
