JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE SHOW

I produce and host a nationally-touring comedy/dating show called Love Isn't Blind - the gimmick is that the men can't speak. Four men compete for one bachelorette. We have real success stories, including two marriages.

We've been featured on NBC's California Live, The Tamron Hall Show, and more. I currently tour Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, New York, and Washington DC.

THE ROLE

I need someone to take over press, marketing, and outreach entirely. Right now I do all of it myself, on top of producing and hosting the actual show, and I simply don't have the time anymore. I'm drowning!

To be clear: this is NOT a social media manager role. I'm not looking for content calendars or follower growth. *This is a pitching job.*

Here's what you'd own:

PRESS - Local city press, alt-weeklies, newsletters, event calendars, culture reporters, national trend reporters. Finding the right person at each outlet, verifying their actual beat, and writing a pitch that fits what they publish. I do NOT want my pitches to feel or sound like spam.

PODCASTS - Dating, comedy, culture, and sometimes entrepreneurial. Vetting a show's recent episodes before claiming a fit, then pitching me and the show as a guest.

COMMUNITY & GROUP OUTREACH - Rec sports leagues, run clubs, alumni clubs, young professionals groups. A discount code in exchange for sharing the show with their members.

CREATOR OUTREACH - Pitching relevant influencers to cover the show.

EVENT CALENDARS - Submissions for every show, in every city.

WHAT MATTERS MOST:

RESEARCH THAT HOLDS UP. This is the big one. Verify on an org's own live site or social profile before pitching them. If you can't confirm something, please just say so! I would much rather hear "I couldn't confirm this" than get a confident pitch built on a dead link.

WRITING. Short, punchy, sometimes funny pitches, all day long. Your written English needs to pass as native in an email to an American reporter. This one is a hard requirement.

FLUENCY WITH CLAUDE. I run my entire outreach operation through it, and I want someone who can do it better than I can - and who double-checks every factual claim it produces. If your instinct is to paste AI output straight into an email, this isn't the job.

JUDGMENT. Knowing who NOT to pitch is half the job.

ORGANIZATION. You'll be pitching seven cities at once, and hopefully more in 2027.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 2+ years in pitching, PR, publicity, marketing, or partnerships, where you had to persuade a stranger over email
- At home in Gmail, Google Sheets, Drive, and Instagram DMs
- I do NOT want someone to have to work all night for this job. That said, it would be great to hire an early bird who is okay to start between 7-8 am local time, because that means we can at least overlap working hours from about 4-7 pm my time daily. Press does require fast responses when we receive interest. I will also want to be cc'ed on every email so that if something time sensitive comes in while you're asleep, I can get to it!

STRONGLY PREFERRED:

- Experience pitching entertainment: live events, comedy, theater, film, festivals, touring acts, talent - in the U.S., Europe, or Canada.
- Canva-level graphic design for cover photos and event graphics
- Familiarity with Eventbrite
- You like comedy and have opinions about it

WHERE THIS GOES:

I'd love this to grow into owning the strategy: which cities are underperforming, which channels actually convert, moving from discount codes to affiliate links and real data, and building templates and AI workflows.

COMP:

Please let me know your rate. This is a full time position, but I would like to do a paid trial first.

TO APPLY

Email
a resume and a short cover letter to ---------- love to know:

- What hours you could work in PST?
- The most relevant pitching you've done and an example pitch.
- How you use AI in your work, and one example of something you got it to do well.

Thank you!
