Hey! I'm Giovanni. I'm 27, I work in tech sales, I'm building a startup on the side, and I'm going all in on my personal brand. One reel a day, every day, starting now. I'm looking for one editor to ride this with me from the ground floor.
This isn't a gig. I want someone who becomes my editor, learns my style, and grows with the page as it takes off. If that sounds like what you've been waiting for, keep reading.
THE QUICK VERSION
- What: Instagram Reels and TikToks. Talking-head "yapping" videos, get-ready-with-me, and day-in-the-life.
- How many: One reel a day to start, with room to grow to two.
- Pay: $10–$20 per reel based on experience and quality, with raises as we grow.
- Turnaround: 24 hours from raw footage to first cut.
- Tools: CapCut or the Instagram Edits app. Edits is a plus. We'll work in Slack.
- My page:
WHY THIS IS A REAL OPPORTUNITY
Most editing jobs are a few videos and then silence. This is daily work, every single day, for as long as you're great at it. That's around 30 reels a month from one client, and the rate goes up as the page grows and you prove yourself.
I'll also train you. I have a full style guide for exactly how I want these edited, and I'll give you direct feedback until you've got it dialed in. You'll come out of this a much better editor than you came in. After that, you run it.
And there's more behind this page. I'm building DuoTrack, a fitness app, and there's a long-form YouTube channel too. When those take off, the person editing my daily reels is the first person I bring in. You're getting in early.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
I'll send raw footage every day through Slack with a quick note on the hook and the point of the video. From there:
- Cut it tight. Trim the pauses and rambling, keep the energy up, hook in the first second.
- Captions and on-screen text. Clean, well-timed, in our brand style. This is a big part of the look.
- Simple, tasteful edits. Zooms, cuts, B-roll placement, sound. Enough to hold attention, never overdone.
- Two styles: raw talking-head yapping reels, and GRWM or day-in-the-life vlogs with timestamps and title cards.
- Export ready-to-post, 9:16, no watermarks, for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts.
- Quick tweaks from my notes. Usually one round, often none.
THE STANDARD
Go look at these before you apply so we're on the same page:
If you watched those and thought "I can edit like that, and I'd love to," you're who I'm looking for.
WHO I'M LOOKING FOR
- You've edited short-form content before (Reels, TikToks, or Shorts) and you can show me examples. Doesn't have to be for a big account.
- You're strong in CapCut or the Instagram Edits app.
- You're passionate about short-form. You watch Reels and notice why they work. You have opinions on hooks and pacing.
- You're comfortable in Slack and you're responsive. We'll talk every day.
- Fast and reliable. 24-hour turnarounds, and if something's going to slip, I hear about it before it does. I'll always do the same for you.
- Coachable. I'll train you on my style and give clear feedback, and you actually apply it.
- Fluent English, and you get the vibe of lifestyle and self-improvement content.
Please don't apply if you're looking for a quick one-off gig. This is a daily, long-term thing and I want someone who's excited about that.
WHAT YOU GET
- Daily, consistent work. Around 30 reels a month.
- Raises as your work speaks for itself. When the page grows, you grow with it.
- Real training. My full style guide and direct feedback from me until you've got it.
- First look at everything that comes next: the app launch content, the YouTube channel, all of it.
- A real voice. I want your ideas on hooks, trends, and what to try next. You're a creative partner, not just a pair of hands.
HOW TO APPLY
Start your message with the word "Liftoff" so I know you read the whole thing. Then send me:
1. 3–5 Reels or TikToks you edited, and exactly what you did on each.
2. Which editing app you use, and whether you've used Instagram Edits.
3. One reel from any of the accounts above and two sentences on why it works.
4. Your rate per reel and how many reels a week you can realistically handle.
The strongest applicants get a paid test edit, one real reel from real footage, before we commit. So you get paid either way.
I need to see your work to consider you, so please don't skip the links. Let's build something big.
