JOB OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a creative, proactive Social Media Content Creator to help manage the social media content for our two women-only pole dancing studios in Australia.

This is an ongoing part-time role, initially around 5 hours per week, with the potential for the role to grow.
Our studios are fun, supportive, empowering and a little bit sassy. We want our social media to reflect that — fun, confident, sexy, welcoming and real, rather than corporate or generic.

The role
We already have plenty of great students, instructors, classes and raw content.
What we need is someone who can take much more ownership of the thinking, planning and creation behind our social media.
We don’t want to have to come up with every Reel idea ourselves and then simply hand footage over to be edited. We want someone who can research what’s working, spot trends, come up with ideas and present us with great options.
We will choose the ideas that feel fun, suitable for our brand and realistic for us to film. You can then tell us what footage you need, we’ll film it, and you can take it from there.

What you’ll be doing
• Researching Instagram and TikTok for current trends, sounds, Reel formats and content ideas
• Finding trending ideas that could be adapted creatively for our pole dancing studios
• Coming up with original content ideas
• Presenting us with ideas to choose from rather than waiting for us to tell you what to create
• Providing simple instructions for what we need to film once an idea is approved
• Reviewing our raw footage and identifying the best clips
• Editing engaging Reels and short-form videos
• Selecting photos for posts
• Writing captions and on-screen text that suit our personality
• Creating simple graphics and quote posts
• Planning and scheduling content
• Keeping an eye on what is working for dance, fitness, lifestyle and women-focused accounts
• Helping us develop and improve our social media strategy over time

The goal is for you to eventually take a significant amount of the social media thinking and workload, while still working within our brand and getting approval for content ideas.

Who we’re looking for
You’ll ideally be someone who:
• Has genuine experience creating social media content
• Has a strong creative eye
• Understands Instagram and TikTok trends
• Knows what makes someone stop scrolling
• Is confident editing Reels and short-form video
• Can look at raw footage and recognise what will make good content
• Can generate ideas without needing constant direction
• Has excellent written English
• Can learn a brand’s personality and write in its voice
• Is organised, dependable and communicates well
• Can work independently and use good judgement
• Is comfortable creating content featuring pole dancing, sensual movement and women expressing confidence and sexuality

Experience with dance, fitness, beauty, lifestyle or female-focused brands would be a bonus.

We care much more about your creativity, judgement and the quality of your work than formal qualifications.
Hours

We expect to start at approximately 5 hours per week.

We’ll agree on an hourly rate and weekly hours in advance. There may be opportunities for additional hours as the role develops.

How to apply

Please start your application with the words POLE SOCIAL so we know you’ve read the full job description.
Then answer the following:
1. Tell us briefly about your social media/content creation experience.
2. Share links to 2–3 examples of your best Reels or short-form videos. Please choose examples that best demonstrate your editing and creative skills.
3. Imagine you were creating content for our women-only pole dancing studios. Give us 3 Reel/TikTok ideas you think would work well for us. These can be current trends you would adapt or original ideas. Briefly tell us what we would need to film for each one.
4. How do you normally find new trends and content ideas for the accounts you manage?
5. What tools do you use for video editing, graphics, content planning and scheduling?
6. Approximately how long would it normally take you to turn supplied raw footage into a polished 20–30 second Reel?
7. What is your hourly rate in USD, and approximately how many hours per week are you looking for?
Shortlisted applicants may be offered a small paid trial task before we choose someone for the ongoing role.
Please don’t send a generic application. We’re looking for someone who can think creatively, bring us ideas and take initiative, not simply wait to be told what to post.
