Title: Short-Form Video Editor & Virtual Assistant (Remote, Temporary with Path to Full-Time)
Company: Zaya Clipping Agency
About us
Zaya Clipping Agency produces short-form vertical content for podcasts and personal brands. We turn long-form episodes into TikToks, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels that are built to perform, not just to exist. Our clients include a sports podcast and a finance education brand.
The role
You'll take raw episode footage and turn it into finished, post-ready clips, plus handle the operational work that keeps the pipeline moving. This is roughly [70]% editing and [30]% assistant work.
This starts as a temporary engagement. If you deliver consistently and hit turnaround, it converts to a full-time role as our client roster grows. We promote from this position first.
Work is paid per clip. If you want more volume, ask and we'll assign more. Editors who deliver on time get first pick of additional work.
Editing responsibilities
Cut 60-second vertical clips from long-form podcast episodes
Deliver each finished clip within 30 minutes to 1 hour of receiving the assignment. This is a hard requirement, not a target
Build split-screen layouts (host on top, supporting visuals below)
Source and place B-roll: high-res stills, short muted video clips, relevant footage that matches what's being said word for word
Add captions and clean audio
Deliver in platform-ready specs for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels
Follow our house style guide with minimal revision rounds
VA responsibilities
Organize and file raw footage, assets, and finished deliverables
Write and schedule captions, titles, and hashtags per our platform-specific SEO framework
Post or schedule clips across client accounts
Track deliverables and deadlines in our project tracker
Basic inbox and outreach support
What we're looking for
1+ year editing short-form vertical video, with a portfolio of clips you personally cut
Proven fast turnaround. You can go from raw footage to finished clip in under an hour without the quality dropping
Fluent in CapCut, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
Strong instinct for where a clip should start and end. You can find the hook in a 60-minute episode
Resourceful at sourcing B-roll. We prioritize real footage over text cards, so you need to be willing to dig for the right shot
Reliable communicator who hits deadlines without being chased
Comfortable working independently across time zones
Nice to have
Familiarity with sports or finance content
Experience managing posting schedules across multiple accounts
Basic motion graphics or thumbnail design
