JOB OVERVIEW

Full-Time Remote | Long-Term Opportunity | Australian E-Commerce & Subscription Business

Paddock 2 Porch is an established Australian fresh fruit and vegetable home-delivery business servicing customers from the Gold Coast through Tweed and into the Northern Rivers.

We are looking for an experienced E-Commerce Technical & Digital Performance Specialist to join us full-time remotely and help take the business through its next stage of growth.

This is NOT a social media manager or general VA role.

We are not looking for someone to simply create Instagram posts, write captions or maintain a content calendar.

We want someone who understands the technical and performance backend of an e-commerce business and can progressively take ownership of our digital growth ecosystem — WooCommerce, Meta, Google, tracking, analytics, CRO, SEO, Klaviyo, subscriptions and performance marketing.

Our business is already established and generating significant recurring subscription revenue. We now want to build a stronger digital growth engine capable of acquiring more profitable customers — particularly weekly and fortnightly subscribers — while improving conversion, retention and measurement.

THE INITIAL PROJECT

Your first responsibility will be to thoroughly audit our existing digital ecosystem.

We want you to identify:

What is working
What isn't working
What has been configured incorrectly
Where tracking or attribution is unreliable
Where customers are dropping out of the funnel
What opportunities we are currently missing
What should be prioritised to improve profitable growth

Importantly, we don't just want reports telling us there is a problem.

We want someone capable of investigating the problem and actually implementing the solution.

You will review and work directly with:

WooCommerce / WordPress
WooCommerce configuration
WordPress website
WooCommerce Subscriptions
Plugins and integrations
Checkout and customer journey
Subscription purchase flow
Mobile conversion
Website speed and technical performance
Product and category structure
Technical issues affecting conversion
Tracking implementation
Meta
Meta Business Manager
Meta Ads Manager
Meta Pixel
Conversion API
Events and conversion tracking
Attribution
Audiences
Campaign structure
Retargeting

Facebook
and Instagram ----------
Domain verification
Product/catalogue integrations
Creative performance and testing
Google
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
Google Tag Manager
Google Search Console
Google Merchant Center
Google Ads
Conversion tracking
Product feeds
Search campaigns
Shopping/Performance Max where appropriate
Organic search performance
Klaviyo / Customer Retention
Klaviyo integration with WooCommerce

Email
flows
Customer segmentation
New-customer journeys
Subscription conversion
Abandoned cart/checkout
Post-purchase
Win-back campaigns
SMS
Deliverability
Revenue attribution
Opportunities to improve customer LTV
Analytics & Measurement

We use several sources of business data, including WooCommerce, GA4, Meta, Klaviyo and Metorik.

We want someone who understands that platform-reported ROAS is not necessarily the same as incremental business growth.

We want to build reliable measurement around:

Revenue | New Customers | New Subscribers | CAC | Subscription CAC | Conversion Rate | AOV | LTV | Contribution Margin | ROAS | MER | CTR | CPC | Retention | Churn | Returning Customers | Funnel Performance

You should be comfortable reconciling differences between platforms and determining which numbers we can actually trust.

THEN WE WANT TO GROW

Once our digital foundations and measurement are correct, the role will increasingly focus on profitable growth.

Our major growth priority is subscriptions.

Paddock 2 Porch offers weekly and fortnightly fruit and vegetable box subscriptions alongside once-off purchases.

We don't simply want more website traffic.

We want more profitable, long-term customers.

You should be capable of looking at our business performance and determining what is preventing growth, developing a hypothesis, testing it and measuring the result.

That could involve:

Restructuring Meta campaigns
Developing a better creative-testing strategy
Improving subscription offers
Reducing customer acquisition cost
Improving landing pages
Improving mobile conversion
Fixing tracking
Improving checkout
Developing Google campaigns
Improving SEO
Improving Klaviyo flows
Identifying funnel leakage
Improving subscription conversion
Improving retention
Testing offers
Improving attribution
Identifying opportunities we haven't considered

We want someone who continually asks:

"What is stopping this business from acquiring more profitable customers, and what should we test next?"

PERFORMANCE MARKETING

This role will progressively take significant responsibility for our paid acquisition.

You should have genuine hands-on experience with Meta Ads and/or Google Ads for e-commerce businesses.

We don't want someone who simply launches campaigns and reports ROAS every month.

We want someone who understands:

Creative → Click → Landing Page → Checkout → First Purchase → Subscription → Retention → LTV

You should understand how all of those components affect the economics of customer acquisition.

Our objective is not to maximise advertising spend.

Our objective is to profitably scale customer and subscription acquisition.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You should have genuine hands-on experience with several of the following:

WooCommerce | WordPress | Meta Ads | Meta Business Manager | Meta Pixel | Conversion API | Google Ads | GA4 | Google Tag Manager | Search Console | Merchant Center | Klaviyo | Technical SEO | CRO | E-Commerce Analytics | Subscription E-Commerce

WooCommerce experience is strongly preferred.

Experience with subscription or recurring-revenue businesses is highly desirable.

You don't need to be the world's leading expert in every platform.

But you do need to understand how these systems connect and work together.

We are looking for someone who:

Is technically strong and enjoys solving problems
Understands e-commerce economics
Has genuine hands-on paid advertising experience
Is highly analytical
Can interpret data rather than simply produce reports
Understands CAC and LTV
Understands that Meta attribution isn't necessarily reality
Can work independently
Takes ownership
Can identify problems and recommend solutions
Is comfortable implementing fixes personally
Can clearly explain what they have found and why it matters
Documents changes
Is organised
Is commercially minded
Wants to build something over time rather than complete isolated freelance tasks

Above all, we want someone who is curious about why the numbers are doing what they're doing.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

This is not primarily:

Social media management
Posting to Instagram
Writing captions
Influencer management
Graphic design
General virtual assistant work

Creative will be important to our advertising strategy, and you may help develop creative briefs and analyse creative performance.

However, you are being hired primarily to understand, manage and improve the digital growth engine behind the business.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are initially looking at approximately a 6-month full-time engagement, with the intention of creating a permanent long-term role for the right person.

The first stage will focus heavily on:

Audit → Repair → Measurement → Optimisation

From there:

Testing → Acquisition → Conversion → Subscription Growth → Retention → Scaling

You will work directly with the owner and have significant visibility into the actual performance of the business.

If you are successful, this role can grow significantly as the business grows.

We care much more about capability, initiative, commercial thinking and results than qualifications.

HOW TO APPLY

Please do not send us a generic application.

Start your application by briefly telling us about yourself and your experience.

Then answer the following questions.

1. Tell us about a WooCommerce or subscription e-commerce business where you personally worked on performance or technical setup. What did you personally do, and what was the result?

2. You inherit a WooCommerce business where Meta reports strong ROAS, but total business revenue hasn't grown by anything close to the amount Meta claims it generated. How would you investigate whether Meta is actually producing incremental sales?

3. What are the first things you would audit inside Meta Business Manager and Ads Manager for an established e-commerce business?

4. Explain the difference between Meta Pixel tracking and Conversion API in simple terms.

5. An e-commerce business has reasonable website traffic but isn't acquiring enough new customers. Walk us through how you would diagnose the problem.

6. A business sells both once-off purchases and weekly/fortnightly subscriptions. Which customer would you be willing to pay more to acquire, and how would you determine how much more?

7. What are the five most important numbers you would want to see every Monday morning to determine whether an e-commerce business is growing profitably? Explain why you chose each one.

8. Meta ads have produced approximately a 1.0 ROAS recently. You inherit the account tomorrow. What information would you examine before changing anything, and what would determine your first three actions?

9. Which of these platforms would you consider yourself genuinely advanced in?

WooCommerce / WordPress / Meta Business Manager / Meta Ads / GA4 / GTM / Search Console / Merchant Center / Google Ads / Klaviyo / Technical SEO / CRO

Please rate yourself 1–10 for each one you have used professionally.

10. What is your expected monthly salary for a full-time position?

11. What country and city are you based in?

12. Please provide examples of e-commerce businesses you have previously worked with. For each example, briefly explain your personal involvement and, where possible, measurable results.

13. If you joined Paddock 2 Porch tomorrow, what information or access would you ask us for during your first week?

We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership of the digital engine of an established e-commerce business, understand the numbers, fix problems, run intelligent experiments and help us grow profitably.
