JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT US
We are a US-based Tech company looking for a full-time Python/Django developer to join our development team. This is a long-term position for someone who likes variety and can switch between projects easily.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is not a one-project role. In a single week you might build an API connection with a freight carrier, set up a job service with our internal tools, fix a bug in a live application and move production data into a sandbox so a new feature can be tested. If you like solving different kinds of problems and figuring things out, you will fit in well here.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build and maintain API integrations with carriers and partners (REST, JSON, XML)
- Set up and configure job services and background processes using our internal tools
- Fix bugs and add new features to existing Django applications
- Migrate production data to sandbox environments for testing
- Write and troubleshoot SQL queries and data scripts
- Document your work and keep the team updated on progress

REQUIREMENTS
- 3–5 years of professional Python experience
- Solid hands-on experience with Django
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Good working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Comfortable with Git
- Clear written English: able to explain issues, ask good questions and give updates
- Reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace
- Available for 1–2 hours of overlap with US Central Time (CT) each workday

NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
- Django REST Framework
- AWS, especially S3, AWS CLI
- Experience in logistics, freight or shipping (carrier APIs, shipment tracking, EDI/XML)
