JOB OVERVIEW

Scout Data is an AI-powered sales platform for home services professionals in solar, roofing, HVAC, and other industries. We help teams find the right prospects using property data and real buying signals such as recent move-ins, storm damage, aging roofs, permit history, and solar installations.

We are hiring a Software Sales Engineer with strong JavaScript and data analytics experience to support our sales process and help customers with data exports. This role combines technical problem-solving, data work, and customer communication.

What you'll do:

- Work with the sales team to understand customer data requirements
- Help prepare, customize, validate, and troubleshoot data exports
- Use JavaScript to transform, clean, organize, and format data
- Analyze datasets and identify issues, patterns, or inconsistencies
- Explain technical concepts clearly to customers and non-technical teammates
- Join customer or prospect calls when technical expertise is needed
- Translate customer requests into clear technical requirements
- Coordinate with our engineering and sales teams to resolve data-related questions
- Document repeatable processes and improve the data-export workflow
- Verify that completed exports are accurate and meet customer expectations

What we're looking for:

- Strong practical experience with JavaScript
- Experience working with data analytics, data exports, CSV files, or large datasets
- Excellent written English
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting
- Comfortable speaking with customers and participating in sales conversations
- Able to understand business needs and recommend practical technical solutions
- Reliable, organized, responsive, and able to work independently
- Experience with SQL, APIs, spreadsheets, data visualization, or SaaS products is a plus
- Prior experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Implementation Specialist, Data Analyst, or Software Engineer is a plus

Schedule and pay:

- Full-time remote role
- 40 hours per week
- Must be able to maintain reliable overlap with U.S. business hours
- $10 USD per hour
