E-Commerce Shopify Supply Chain Operations Manager
Salary Range: $5 USD per hour, depending on experience
Work Schedule: Part-time | Remote | around 24 hours per week | at least 4 hours of daily overlap with CEST (Amsterdam)
Experience Required: At least 1 year in eCommerce Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Order Management, or Operations
About the Role
We are an international eCommerce company operating multiple Shopify-based stores. We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Supply Chain Operations Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day supply chain and order operations.
You will be responsible for making sure orders move smoothly from purchase to delivery, resolving fulfillment and supplier issues, performing regular quality checks, and identifying problems or risks that need to be flagged to management.
This role requires someone who takes ownership, follows up consistently, and pays close attention to detail. You should not only resolve issues when they happen, but also identify recurring problems, check that processes are being followed correctly, and help prevent operational issues from happening again.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of order and fulfillment issues, including out-of-stock, delayed, lost, damaged, incorrect, not-received, and returned orders.
- Monitor open and blocked orders and ensure they are followed up on until fully resolved.
- Handle and follow up on Return to China (RTC) and Return to Sender (RTS) cases.
- Coordinate with suppliers and other partners to resolve fulfillment, product, and shipping issues.
- Work closely with Customer Support on order-related cases requiring Supply Chain action.
- Review and process refunds accurately according to internal SOPs and policies.
- Monitor outbound orders, tracking updates, and other order exceptions requiring action.
- Perform regular quality checks to make sure orders, refunds, tracking, and internal processes are being handled correctly.
- Identify mistakes, recurring issues, unusual patterns, or operational risks and flag important findings to the Backend Manager.
- Check that internal SOPs and processes are being followed consistently and report when something is missing or not working correctly.
- Identify supplier, product, shipping, or fulfillment issues that could lead to increased refunds, complaints, disputes, or chargebacks.
- Maintain accurate order statuses, tracking information, refund records, and internal notes.
- Maintain clear follow-ups on all open Supply Chain cases until they are fully resolved.
- Help document and improve Supply Chain SOPs, quality-control procedures, and workflows.
- Use Shopify, Google Sheets, Re:amaze, Notion, and other internal tools to manage and monitor Supply Chain operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in eCommerce supply chain, fulfillment, order management, or operations.
- Experience working with Shopify-based eCommerce stores.
- Good understanding of order fulfillment, shipping, tracking, refunds, returns, and supplier-related issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors, inconsistencies, and operational risks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently follow issues through to resolution.
- Comfortable working with Shopify, Google Sheets, Notion, and helpdesk/order management tools.
- Able to perform structured quality checks and clearly report findings to management.
- Organized and capable of managing multiple open cases and priorities at the same time.
- Proactive and willing to escalate important issues rather than waiting for someone else to notice them.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work at least 4 hours of daily overlap with CEST (Amsterdam).
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with multiple Shopify or dropshipping stores.
- Experience communicating directly with suppliers or fulfillment partners.
- Experience handling RTC, RTS, lost shipments, delayed orders, and other fulfillment exceptions.
- Experience performing operational quality checks or audits.
- Experience managing refund and order-tracking sheets.
- Understanding of how fulfillment and operational issues can lead to complaints, refunds, disputes, and chargebacks.
- Experience identifying recurring problems and improving SOPs or workflows.
What We Offer
- $5 USD per hour, depending on experience.
- Around 24 hours per week with the opportunity to grow as the role develops.
- Long-term and stable position.
- Salary reviews every 6 months and clear room to grow.
- An important role in improving and scaling our Supply Chain operations.
- Supportive international team, regular feedback, paid training, and clear SOPs.
