JOB OVERVIEW

Facade / Cladding Shop Drawing Drafter

Built Exteriors is looking for a highly skilled AutoCAD drafter with facade / exterior cladding shop drawing experience to support our U.S. commercial construction projects.

This is a technical drafting role, not a general VA position.

Your main responsibility will be taking architectural plans and creating clear, professional shop drawings for our exterior scopes.

What You’ll Work On

Our exterior systems include:

Fiber cement siding and panels
EIFS / stucco
ACM and metal panels
Sheet metal
Soffits and fascia
Weather barriers and flashings
Other exterior cladding systems

Typical shop drawing work includes:

Exterior elevations
Wall sections
Window head, jamb, and sill details
Door and storefront details
Material transitions
Inside and outside corners
Parapets
Base-of-wall conditions
Soffits and fascia
Flashing / WRB details
Field installation drawings

The type of work we need is similar to the shop drawing package we use internally, with detailed elevations, material legends, transition details, opening conditions, parapets, flashing, WRB relationships, and trim profiles.

What We’re Looking For

You must have:

Strong professional AutoCAD experience
Experience producing shop drawings or detailed construction drawings
Strong ability to read architectural plans, elevations, sections, and details
Ability to create details, not just trace drawings
Good understanding of how building materials transition and connect
Strong attention to detail
Good written English

Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

Facade / cladding shop drawings
ACM / metal panels
Fiber cement
EIFS / stucco
Sheet metal
Curtain wall / storefront
Waterproofing / building envelope systems
U.S. commercial construction drawings

Revit, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and Procore experience are a plus, but not required.

Portfolio Required

A technical drafting portfolio is required.

Facade or cladding drawings
Fabrication or installation drawings
