Brand Protection Specialist — Full-Time
We're a fast-growing US ecommerce brand. Our products and our marketing get copied constantly — some of it word-for-word & download our exact video ads to put up on their own. We already have a legal partner who files the takedowns. What we don't have is someone hunting the copycats down in the first place.
That's this job. You find them, you build the evidence file, you hand it to our legal partner, and you make sure it actually gets taken down.
What you'll do every day:
- Search the internet for stores, listings, and ads copying our product pages, our copy, our images and our offers
- Check each one carefully and d
- Build an evidence file for the ones that are: save the full page, screenshot it, pull the exact sentences they copied from us, archive it on the Wayback Machine
- Submit the file to our legal partner (Bustem)
- Chase every case through to resolution. Track what's been filed, what's been actioned, what's gone quiet, and follow up. A submitted case nobody follows up on is a case that doesn't get taken down
- Keep one tracker showing every copycat found, its status, and the outcome
You'll be good at this if you
✅ Are obsessive about detail and finish what you start
✅ Write clear English. You'll be writing findings a lawyer reads
✅ Are comfortable being told "this one isn't actionable" and moving on
✅ Chase things. A lot of this job is noticing something has gone quiet and following up
This isn't for you if you need to be told what to do each day, if "close enough" feels fine, or if you'd rather hit a number than be right.
Where it goes
This role also GROWS. Once copycat hunting is running smoothly it expands into the rest of brand protection — monitoring reviews, Trustpilot, fake accounts and impersonators across social media pages. We want someone who'll own that whole area, not just fill a task list.
Pay
✅ $500 per month, paid on time, every time
✅ Plus a bounty of $5/successful takedown you submitted
✅ Reviewed again at 90 days
To apply, send us:
- Find us one real example of an online store that has copied another store's product page copy. Any brands, any industry. Send the two URLs and quote three specific sentences that appear on both pages, word-for-word.
- In one or two sentences: why is that example actionable, and what would make it not actionable?
- Anything you've done before involving detailed research or investigation.
No CV needed. Applications without part 1 completed won't be read.
