Senior Australian Payroll & Employment Hero Implementation Specialist | Remote Contractor – Philippines

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you an experienced Australian payroll professional who knows Employment Hero Payroll beyond simply

We are an Australian payroll consulting and implementation business seeking a highly capable, Philippines-based contractor to support Australian clients with payroll processing, Employment Hero Payroll implementations, system configuration, testing and ongoing support.

This is a hands-on and client-facing position. You will work across multiple client payrolls and implementation projects and will be expected to identify issues, investigate discrepancies and take ownership of your work through to resolution.

This is not an entry-level, payroll administration or data-entry position. Strong Australian payroll knowledge and hands-on Employment Hero Payroll implementation experience are mandatory.

Experience with New Zealand payroll or Employment Hero HR implementations would be an added advantage but is not essential.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Australian payroll processing and support:

Process and review end-to-end Australian payrolls accurately and within required deadlines.
Review timesheets, employee changes, leave, allowances, deductions, superannuation and termination payments.
Complete payroll reconciliations, variance checks and payroll reporting.
Investigate discrepancies and resolve payroll processing or system configuration issues.
Respond professionally to client queries and clearly explain identified issues and required actions.
Identify and report payroll, compliance, data and system risks.
Maintain accurate records and protect confidential payroll information.
Manage work across multiple clients while meeting competing deadlines.

Employment Hero Payroll implementations:

Assist with and progressively manage Employment Hero Payroll implementations.
Gather, review and validate employee, payroll and historical data.
Configure businesses, pay schedules, pay categories, leave categories, allowances, deductions, superannuation and other payroll settings.
Configure and test pay rate templates, work types, rule sets, tags and employment conditions.
Assist with award and enterprise agreement configuration.
Prepare and validate employee uploads, opening balances and historical earnings data.
Support general ledger mapping and integrations with HR, accounting and time-and-attendance systems.
Perform system testing, user acceptance testing and parallel payroll comparisons.
Investigate and resolve variances identified during testing.
Prepare procedures, testing records, implementation documentation and client guides.
Assist with client training, handover and post-implementation support.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

You must have:

At least four to five years of hands-on Australian payroll experience.
Advanced practical knowledge of Employment Hero Payroll, formerly KeyPay.
Demonstrated Employment Hero Payroll implementation and configuration experience.
Experience processing Australian payroll from end to end—not only payroll administration or data entry.
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll requirements, including Fair Work, modern awards, enterprise agreements, PAYG withholding, STP, superannuation, leave and termination payments.
Experience interpreting modern awards, enterprise agreements or other complex payroll conditions.
Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Confidence communicating directly with Australian clients.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate work.
The ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet strict deadlines.
A reliable computer, stable high-speed internet connection and a secure, private home workspace.

HIGHLY REGARDED

The following experience would be an advantage:

New Zealand payroll processing or implementation experience.
Employment Hero HR implementation or administration.
Managed or outsourced payroll experience across multiple clients.
Complex award and enterprise agreement rule configuration.
Payroll compliance reviews, audits or remediation calculations.
General ledger mapping and accounting-system integrations.
Preparing client guides, procedures and training materials.

CONTRACTOR ARRANGEMENT

This is a full-time remote independent contractor position based in the Philippines.

The engagement will initially be offered for three months. Our intention is to establish a long-term working relationship with the successful contractor, subject to demonstrated capability, reliability, performance and ongoing business requirements.

The contractor must be available during agreed working hours aligned with the Sydney business day and have the capacity to make this role their primary professional commitment.

The monthly contractor rate is PHP 80,000–95,000, depending on the depth of the applicant’s Australian payroll and Employment Hero implementation experience.
