JOB OVERVIEW

Do you actually follow US politics — not just the headlines, but the story behind them? We want to turn that into your job.

We're a fast-growing US media company producing political and current-events video content for YouTube, and we're looking for a dedicated scriptwriter — someone who reads the news because they want to, not because they have to — to research and write the scripts our channel is built on.

This isn't a generic content-writing gig. We need someone who already understands how US politics works — Congress, elections, policy, the news cycle — and can turn a fast-moving story into a script that holds a viewer's attention for ten minutes straight.

100% remote. Long-term, ongoing role — not a one-off project.

What You'll Do

Research daily US political news, policy stories, elections, and government/economic developments
Write long-form, narration-ready video scripts (10–20+ minutes) that turn a political story into a compelling narrative
Build each script around a clear hook and story arc — not just a summary of events
Source and accurately cite quotes, statistics, and public data to back up every claim
Write specifically for the ear, not the page — scripts are read aloud by a narrator/host, so pacing and rhythm matter
Collaborate with editors and our on-camera host/narrator on tone, structure, and revisions
Track trending political stories and pitch newscript topics
Hit a regular, agreed publishing schedule

What We're Looking For

A genuine, working understanding of US politics and current events — you should be able to explain a policy debate or election story accurately without hand-holding
Strong written English with a clear, engaging, narrative storytelling style
Comfortable researching from news articles, government sources, and public records
Experience writing scripts, articles, or long-form content (YouTube scriptwriting experience is a plus, not a requirement)
Able to write for narration — pacing, rhythm, and a "spoken" flow, not academic prose
Reliable, deadline-driven, and comfortable working independently
Open to feedback and revisions — we'll share a style guide, and every script goes through a review pass
