What the job is
We sell supplements on a subscription. We are good at acquiring customers. We are not good at keeping them, and we know it: a large share of our subscribers write in to cancel before their second charge, and we are losing money we already paid to acquire.
That is this job. You own retention. Not the tickets — the numbers behind them. You d
We are hiring for judgment, not for tasks. You have done this at a subscription brand before and you know what works because you watched it work.
Your work
1. Find out why they leave, with evidence. Read the cancellation reasons, the support inbox, the refund requests, the chargebacks. Group them. Tell us the three real reasons people churn, ranked by how much money each one costs us. Not opinions — counts.
2. Build the cancellation flow. What we ask, in what order, what we offer against each reason. Pause, skip, change frequency, downsize the order, one-time discount, product swap. You d
3. Fix the money we lose silently. Failed payments and dunning. Card updates. Retry logic. Most subscription brands lose more subscribers to a declined card than to an actual decision to quit, and nobody notices because nobody complains.
4. Work the first 60 days. The subscriber who cancels before charge two never got the product to work. Onboarding emails, dosage expectations, what to feel and when, proactive check-ins. You write the plan and brief whoever executes it.
5. Win them back. Cancelled subscribers are the cheapest customers we will ever have. Build the sequence that brings a share of them back.
6. Report what you changed and what it did. Churn by cohort, retention curve by month, LTV, save rate on cancellation requests, recovered failed payments. Monthly, in numbers, with what you will do next.
What we need from you
You have run retention for a subscription DTC brand. Not "I did support at a brand that had subscriptions" — you owned the churn number and you were judged on it.
You know the tools properly: Recharge, Skio, Bold, Loop or similar, and the email side (Klaviyo or equivalent). You have configured them, not just used them.
You can read a cohort. If we hand you six months of subscriber data, you can tell us where the drop happens and what it is worth.
You have opinions about save offers, and you can defend them. When to pause instead of discount. When a refund is cheaper than a chargeback. When to let someone go.
You write clearly. The emails and flows you design are read by customers, so the words matter.
You have seen this before at another brand. We are not the first place where you learn this.
Nice to have
Supplements, health or wellness specifically. Experience setting up a support function from scratch — helpdesk, macros, refund policy, SOPs. Managing or training support agents. Chargeback dispute experience.
Before you apply
Some of our brands are in health and women's wellness, including intimacy products. The work is never explicit, but if that topic is not for you, this role is not for you and that is completely fine.
What we offer
A stable, long-term, full-time position.
Real ownership of the number. You d
Direct work with the owner. No middle manager.
Paid trial first: we give you our real cancellation reasons and subscriber data for one brand. You come back with the three biggest leaks, what you would build first, and what you expect it to be worth. Good trials get hired within days.
Paid on time, every time.
