JOB OVERVIEW

Full-Time Remote
$750 USD/month
Monday–Friday | 1:00 PM–9:00 PM Bangkok Time (GMT+7)

About the Role

We are building a portfolio of short-form content channels across platforms such as YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels.

We are looking for a Short-Form Content Operator / Video Editor to help build and operate these channels from the ground up.

This is NOT a traditional video editing position.

We are not looking for someone who simply waits for us to send them videos and instructions on what to clip.

You will be responsible for researching content opportunities, campaigns, creators and niches; identifying strong source material; finding moments with viral potential; creating compelling short-form content; publishing and tracking it; analyzing performance; and helping d ---------- what we should scale, improve or stop.

We want someone who can think like an operator and content strategist, while also being able to execute the editing.

Our operating philosophy is simple:

Research → Test → Measure → Learn → Scale Winners → Kill Losers → Test Again

What You'll Be Responsible For
Opportunity & Niche Research

You will:

Research available content-reward and clipping opportunities
Evaluate creators, campaigns and niches
Analyze payout potential and campaign economics
Research competing short-form channels
Identify emerging content opportunities
Evaluate the amount and quality of available source material
Identify audiences and content angles
Recommend which opportunities we should launch
Propose new channels and content concepts
Identify opportunities that should be avoided

You should be able to come to us and say:

“I researched this opportunity, here's why I think it has potential, here's the audience, here's what competitors are doing, here's how we can differentiate, and here's how I would test it.”

—not simply ask us what niche you should work on.

Content Research & Selection

You will:

Research long-form source content
Watch podcasts, interviews, livestreams and other approved source material
Identify moments with the highest short-form potential
Develop compelling hooks
Understand why someone would stop scrolling
Maintain an organized source/content queue
Identify patterns in topics and moments that repeatedly perform
Short-Form Video Editing

You will:

Turn long-form content into high-retention vertical videos
Create strong openings/hooks
Add accurate and engaging captions
Remove unnecessary context and dead space
Improve pacing and storytelling
Add appropriate visual elements and pattern interrupts
Optimize videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
Follow campaign-specific content requirements

We care much more about content judgment, hooks and retention than flashy cinematic editing.

Publishing & Channel Management

You will:

Publish content across approved social platforms
Manage multiple content channels/accounts
Follow posting schedules
Write appropriate captions/titles
Follow campaign submission requirements
Maintain organized records of published content
Ensure content follows platform and campaign rules
Analytics & Experimentation

You will track and analyze:

Views
Eligible/verified views where applicable
Revenue
Revenue per video
Views per video
Retention/watch-time metrics where available
Engagement
Hook performance
Channel performance
Format performance
Campaign performance

You should constantly ask:

Why did this work?

Why did this fail?

What should we test next?

Where should we put more production?

Weekly Reporting

Each week you will prepare a report before our meeting covering:

What was produced
Portfolio performance
Revenue and key metrics
Best-performing content
Worst-performing content
Tests conducted
Results of those tests
Key learnings
New opportunities researched
Channels/formats you recommend scaling
Channels/formats you recommend reducing or stopping
Your production plan for the following week
Any decisions you need from the owner

You should bring recommendations, not just numbers.

About You

You are likely a strong fit if you are:

A critical thinker
Highly fluent in written and spoken English
A self-starter
Naturally curious
Internet and social-media savvy
Interested in what makes content go viral
Comfortable working independently
Analytical and comfortable with numbers
Organized
Detail-oriented
Fast without being careless
Comfortable testing ideas that might fail
Able to learn from data rather than becoming attached to your ideas
Comfortable researching unfamiliar niches
Able to recognize interesting stories, opinions and emotional moments
Able to explain WHY you think something will work
Someone who notices trends and patterns
Comfortable managing multiple projects/accounts simultaneously
Someone who brings solutions instead of only bringing problems

You don't need to be the world's most cinematic editor.

We would rather hire someone with excellent content instincts and strong editing ability than an amazing visual editor who cannot identify what people actually want to watch.

Not For You If...

This position is probably not for you if you:

Need constant oversight or direction
Wait to be told exactly what to do next
Only want to edit videos someone else selects for you
Plan to simply copy and repost existing videos
Think clipping means downloading someone's content and uploading it unchanged
Cannot explain why you selected a particular moment
Focus primarily on transitions/effects instead of storytelling
Are uncomfortable researching independently
Don't enjoy analyzing performance data
Ignore numbers when they contradict your opinion
Become attached to ideas that aren't performing
Don't like testing multiple concepts
Struggle to manage your own time
Need the owner to provide every source video
Need the owner to choose every niche/channel
Are looking for a passive or low-effort editing job

We want someone who eventually thinks:

“This isn't working. Here's why I think it's failing, here's what I learned, and here's where I recommend moving our production.”

Software & Technical Skills

You should be highly proficient with at least one professional short-form editing workflow, such as:

CapCut Desktop
Adobe Premiere Pro
DaVinci Resolve

You should also be comfortable with:

Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
Google Drive
YouTube Studio
TikTok analytics
Instagram Insights
AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for research, brainstorming and workflow support
Social-media scheduling/publishing tools

Experience with tools such as the following is a plus:

Canva
Descript
OpusClip
Metricool
Buffer
Later
Notion
Airtable

Important: AI clipping tools may assist your workflow, but they do not replace your judgment.

We are hiring you to identify opportunities, recognize great moments and understand audiences—not simply press an automatic clipping button.

Working Hours

Monday–Friday
1:00 PM–9:00 PM Bangkok Time (GMT+7)

This is a full-time remote position.

You must be available and responsive during your scheduled working hours.

Some content may be scheduled to publish outside your working hours depending on channel performance data.

Compensation

$750 USD per month

There may be opportunities for additional performance-based compensation as the operation grows and demonstrates consistent profitability.

How to Apply

Start your application with the word:

PORTFOLIO

Applications that do not include this word may not be reviewed.

Please include:

3–5 examples of your best short-form videos
Tell us about one short-form channel/account you think is doing exceptionally well right now. Why do you think it works?
Find one Short, Reel or TikTok that you believe performed particularly well. Explain why you think it worked.
If you were given a 90-minute podcast and asked to find the three moments most likely to go viral, how would you d ---------- which moments to choose?
Tell us about your experience researching content niches, creators, competitors or social-media opportunities.
Which editing software do you use and how would you rate your proficiency from 1–10?
Which analytics, scheduling, AI or content-research tools have you used?
Have you ever managed or grown social-media accounts? If yes, please share the results.
Tell us about a time you independently identified an opportunity or problem and took action without being asked.
Confirm that you are available Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–9:00 PM Bangkok Time (GMT+7).
Hiring Process

Candidates who pass the initial application review may be invited to a paid practical test.

The practical test will evaluate both:

Opportunity Research — your ability to research campaigns/niches and determine what you would launch.

Content Execution — your ability to review long-form source material, identify high-potential moments and turn them into compelling short-form videos.

We're not only looking for the best editor.

We're looking for the person who can help us build the best content operation.
