JOB OVERVIEW

Looking for someone who has actually worked in a production office, on film sets, or in the office of a film distribution company. Shorts, features, commercials, student films that were run seriously, all count.

Tell me what you can do: script breakdowns, budgets, call sheets. You need to know what all of these are, not just recognize the names. You should know Movie Magic Scheduling, or an equivalent you can name, and understand how ADs actually use it.

Not a fit if you want a fixed SOP to run every day, if you need close supervision to stay on track, or if you plan to run this application through ChatGPT. I can tell, and I'll stop reading.

This works best for someone who actually cares about cinema. If you know nothing about it do not apply.

To apply, answer these in your own words:

Name one production you worked on. What was your role, what was the scale, and what went wrong that you handled?
A director changes a location three days before the shoot. Walk me through what you do first.
Two filmmakers whose work you'd point someone to, and why.
What software you know (scheduling, budgeting, editing, spreadsheets, whatever), plus anything else you're good at, and your hourly rate.
