JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT THIS ROLE:
I run email marketing for US e-commerce brands. I handle the strategy, the copy, the client relationship, and the Klaviyo build myself. Design is the one piece I want to hand off to someone else, and ideally grow a partnership with as we scale and add clients.

This is long-term. I'm not looking for a freelancer for a project. I'm looking for the person who designs every email that leaves my desk for the next few years.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:
- Real email design experience. Your portfolio has actual email campaigns in it.
- Range. You can design for a rugged masculine brand and a soft feminine one and have both look right, not one signature style applied to everything
- Comfortable working inside someone else's brand system instead of inventing your own
- Strong typography and hierarchy, and you think about how the design behaves on a phone
- Resourceful. If the brand's asset folder doesn't have the photo a section needs, you go find one or make one, and come to me with options rather than a problem
- Communicative. When something is unclear or a deadline is at risk, you tell me early. We can figure it out together. Silence is the worst thing you can do.
- Reliable written English, enough to handle a revision thread cleanly

WHAT YOU'D BE DOING:
Designing email campaigns in Figma from a finished copy document. I write every headline, sub-headline, and button label and hand it to you section by section.

Working inside each brand's existing style guide — fonts, hex codes, type scale, and button specs are already defined, but for certain design choices I will want to lean on your opinion.

Sourcing or generating supporting imagery when the brand's asset library doesn't have what a section needs. Roughly two rounds of revision per design, turned around quickly

You would NOT be writing copy, doing strategy, building in Klaviyo, or talking to clients. I handle all of that. Unless there is a point down the road where you would be interested in additional work.

YOUR WORKFLOW:
- I send you a finished copy document and the brand assets. You send back a Figma link. Revisions happen in the same file
- Roughly 20–25 designs per month to start, growing as I add clients
- $25 USD per design. At current volume with bonuses, that's $500–$1,000 per month. And it will be more once I onboard more clients (which I can't do until I have a designer)
- Paid twice monthly through Wise, or monthly if you prefer
- After a month or two, once the work is consistently on time and to standard, I'm open to setting a guaranteed monthly minimum of $750 so your income doesn't swing with my send calendar
- A short check-in call each week. Beyond that we work async
