About the role
I'm building a content series documenting a land, building and lifestyle project in the UK - construction, rewilding, and converting outbuildings into holiday lets.

This is an early attempt. I'm always looking to improve quality, storytelling and consistency, and I want one person to own that over the long term.
Please read the whole ad before applying. Applications that don't follow the format at the bottom won't be read.
What you'll be doing:
- Edit short-form vertical videos (30–90 seconds) from raw iPhone / GoPro / drone footage
- Select the best clips and structure a clear, engaging story
- Work from rough notes or voice notes, not full scripts
- Add captions, pacing, music and light polish
- Create platform-ready versions for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
- Schedule and publish approved content across all three platforms
- Post first comments and keep the content tracker up to date
- Suggest hooks and simple captions
- Keep footage and final videos organised in Drive
- Occasionally: cut a longer YouTube video (5–15 minutes) from the same footage. This is secondary - most weeks are short-form only.
What I'm looking for:
- At least 2 years editing short-form content (Reels / TikTok / Shorts)
- Good storytelling instincts, not just cutting clips
- You have already run scheduling and publishing for someone else's accounts - I want a process that's dialled in from day one, not learned on the job
- Comfortable with Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio and a scheduling tool
- Strong written English - you'll be handling captions and comments
- Your own licensed editing software
- At least 3 hours a day overlapping with UK working hours
- Organised and reliable, able to work from a written brief without hand-holding
Bonus, not essential:
- Lifestyle, outdoor, rural or construction content
- Long-form YouTube editing
How we'll work
- I upload raw footage and a short written brief
- You edit, deliver a draft, update the tracker
- I approve or give light feedback
- You schedule and publish
I have a written workflow document covering folder structure, naming, the tracker and the review pipeline. You'll be expected to follow it.
We'll start with 2–3 paid test videos, then move to ongoing weekly work if it's a good fit. I'm looking for someone for the long term, not a one-off.
Pay
- $3–$4/hour, or fixed price per video once we've established how long an edit takes. This is the range - please don't apply if it doesn't work for you.
To apply, send the following, in this order:
1. 3–5 examples of short-form videos you've edited
2. Pick one video from my accounts above and tell me in 2–3 sentences what you'd have done differently. Be specific and be honest - this is the part I actually read.
3. The name of one account you've handled scheduling and publishing for, and which tools you used
4. Your typical turnaround time from footage to first draft
5. Your hours of availability in UK time
Start your message with the word "Coracle" so I know you've read this.
