Video Editor Wanted — YouTube Channel
**Job Type:** Freelance / Ongoing, Long-Term
**Workload:** 2 videos per week (recurring)
**Turnaround:** Fast — see details below
## About the Channel
"Permanent Jewelry, Real Talk" is a growing YouTube channel for permanent jewelry business owners — covering industry trends, business strategy, tools, and honest, no-fluff advice from a founder who's built a real studio with a team. The tone is warm, honest, and direct — like a friend leveling with you, not a polished corporate brand. We're looking for a long-term editing partner to help bring that personality to life visually.
## What You'll Be Doing
You'll receive raw, unedited sit-down talking-head footage (filmed in batches) along with any supporting photos/clips, and turn it into a polished, engaging final video — twice a week, on a consistent schedule.
## Must-Haves
- **A sharp, intriguing editing style** — you know how to take a straightforward talking-head video and make it visually engaging: pacing, cuts, zooms, text call-outs, and creative transitions that keep viewers watching, not just a static edit.
- **Fast, reliable turnaround** — you can take raw footage and deliver a finished, upload-ready video within an agreed turnaround window (please state your typical turnaround time in your application).
- **Strong command of professional editing software** (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar — no template-only tools).
- **Thumbnail design skills** — you'll also be creating custom, high-CTR thumbnails for each video (bold, clear, mobile-readable at a glance).
- **Real YouTube knowledge** — you understand what keeps modern viewers watching: strong hooks in the first few seconds, pacing that holds retention, on-screen text/captions, and current best practices for what performs on the platform (not just generic editing).
- **Consistency and communication** — reliable delivery on schedule, responsive communication, and the ability to take feedback and revise quickly.
## Nice-to-Haves
- Experience editing for business/education or personal-brand YouTube channels (not just entertainment or vlogs).
- Experience adding lower-thirds, on-screen graphics, or a consistent recurring intro/outro treatment to build a cohesive channel look.
- Comfortable syncing captions/subtitles.
- Basic motion graphics or animated text/callout skills.
- Experience repurposing long-form content into short-form clips (a plus, not required initially).
## What We'll Provide
- Raw footage, filmed and delivered in batches on a consistent schedule.
- Brand direction: tone, colors, and style guidance so every video feels consistent.
- Clear, prompt feedback on drafts.
## To Apply, Please Include:
1. Your portfolio or samples of similar talking-head/educational YouTube edits (this matters most — please don't apply without samples).
2. Your typical turnaround time per video.
3. The software you edit in.
4. Your availability for a recurring, long-term 2x/week workload.
5. Your rate per video (edit + thumbnail).
Looking for a long-term working relationship, not a one-off gig — if this sounds like your kind of project, we'd love to hear from you.
