JOB OVERVIEW

Salary range: ---------- / month, depending on experience

About the Role

We're hired by sign companies nationwide to research local government sign regulations — how many signs a property is allowed, size limits, placement restrictions, permit requirements, and more. You'll dig into municipal codes and zoning rules, then summarize your findings on our forms (Excel or PDF) so our clients can design signage and apply for permits with confidence.

This is high-volume, detail-oriented, independent research work — a great fit if you enjoy figuring out how local regulations actually work, like clear targets, and can work through a queue efficiently without letting quality slip.

What You'll Do
• Research applicable sign code ordinances for assigned US addresses using public sources (city/county websites, Municode, zoning maps, etc.)
• Complete code checks on our standard forms accurately and to client-ready quality
• Call US city or county planning/zoning departments when information isn't available or clear online
• Complete assignments accurately and on deadline (some will be same-day turnaround, others will be up to 3 days)
• Communicate by Slack, email, and phone as needed to meet deadlines

What We're Looking For
• Experienced — you've done US-focused research, document review, or compliance work and can pick up our process quickly with minimal training
• You have some experience with permitting, city code research, or related
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Comfortable reading and interpreting regulatory/technical documents
• Excellent written and spoken English; confident making calls to US government offices
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Adobe PDF editor
• Reliable high-speed internet, quiet workspace for calls, PC with Microsoft Office; backup power/internet preferred
• Available full-time during 9 am–6 pm ET
• Takes ownership, works independently, and can hit a monthly quota consistently

Ideal Background
Strong fit for candidates with 3+ years in US permitting, title or lien research, paralegal/legal research, real estate, or BPO back-office roles involving document review for US clients. Prior exposure to US municipal codes or zoning is a plus.

Pay & Structure
• Fixed monthly salary in USD for meeting a minimum volume of completed code checks. Pay depends on prior experience.
• Simple performance bonus for every block of additional code checks completed above the base quota — uncapped
• Training during your first month, with a ramp to full quota within first several weeks
• Workload varies based on client order volume

How to Apply
Please complete our short application, which includes a brief test assignment so you can see the kind of work firsthand: ----------

The full process takes about 45–75 minutes. We review every completed application and follow up with next steps.
