JOB OVERVIEW

Position Summary
We are seeking a Director of Applied AI & Automation to lead the development and implementation of practical AI and automation solutions across financial analysis, transaction execution, research, reporting, and document workflows.

This is a hands-on builder role. You will personally design, prototype, test, and deploy production-ready solutions while working closely with business and financial teams.

Key Responsibilities
Identify and prioritize high-value AI and automation opportunities.
Design and deploy AI-enabled workflows for documents, financial data, analysis, and reporting.
Build solutions using AI, document intelligence, OCR, APIs, rules-based automation, and conventional software.
Automate appropriate portions of Excel, PowerPoint, and document-based workflows while maintaining accuracy and model integrity.
Develop validation, exception-handling, human-review, and audit processes.
Integrate solutions with approved business systems and platforms.
Move successful prototypes into reliable production workflows and continuously improve them.
Establish practical standards for AI governance, security, confidentiality, testing, and documentation.
Train users and support adoption of new workflows.
Help establish the long-term AI and automation roadmap and future team capabilities.

Required Experience & Skills
7+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, applied AI, intelligent automation, data engineering, fintech, or related fields.
Demonstrated experience personally building and deploying production-grade automation.
Strong proficiency in Python, APIs, SQL, Git, data transformation, and cloud-based services.
Practical experience with OCR/document intelligence, structured data extraction, LLMs, and AI-powered workflows.
Experience with automated testing, logging, monitoring, exception handling, and auditability.
Strong programmatic Excel capabilities and familiarity with PowerPoint/business document automation.
Experience integrating business systems through APIs and structured data.
Ability to work with confidential or sensitive information.
Strong business judgment, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Business Knowledge

Experience or strong working knowledge of financial statements, Excel-based financial models, financial analysis, valuation, transaction workflows, or other document-intensive financial processes is highly valued.

Direct investment banking experience is not required. Candidates from accounting technology, financial services, consulting, enterprise automation, or related industries are encouraged to apply.

Practical Requirements
Full-time commitment.
Ability to maintain meaningful working-hour overlap with teams in Puerto Rico and the Philippines.
Willingness to travel periodically as needed.
Professional fluency in English.
Spanish proficiency is an advantage but not required.
